Hi, just wondering if anyone has ordered one of those kits and where from and how was the install. Would possibly try to build one but really don't know all the specifications of it. Just want a roof over the back brick patio.

Never tried a kit. How large is the area? A Lowes or their like may have plans for something like that.

Thanks, someone said try library. Husband is nervous about header? board being put onto house. New siding and all. Thought about hiring someone to do just that and we do the rest but house is a rambler with addition so its an L shape with the patio in the middle.

Right. Connecting it to the house opens a whole new bag o worms. At least it does give it very good support on two sides. Vinyl siding isn't hard to remove if thats what you have. Are you going to get a permit?

funny but I called and the guy said you so need a permit and would have to show how you plan to do it and what materials are used. So I asked him are there guidelines as far as size of timber, poles in ground, etc. and he said no. How do they say its safe or not if they have no guidelines?
Thinking of looking at kits then see what they charge to do it. Would like something can convert to sunroom/screenroom down the road but not right now. Grew up with a porch on a farm. Nothin else like it.
