New MD state record for Ocean waters. 57 pounds 4 ounces. 53 inches long. If I'm not mistaken the old record was set only last year.

What about the record large mouth that was caught in California a few months ago. The latest issue of Bassmaster magazine (April? edition) has an article all about it... apparently its the largest largemouth ever caught but wraught with controversy because they hooked it by the gill or fin instead of hooking it in its mouth :shrug: Folks were mad and the guy ended up taking it out of contention for the record size if there'd be any controversy. I felt badly for the guy, but also felt badly for the fish, there's a reason he grew to that size, its beacuse he didn't fall for any hooks, he was snagged out, not fished :shrug: What do you think? I think he should still get the record but withan asterisk :shrug:
