Keep it fresh, and don't get discouraged if they disappear for a few weeks while they are raising their young. Believe it or not, the young are only fed insects until they mature. Then they and their young will feed at the feeders. I often see them with insects the whole season. Good luck...

First, like anything else, you must fatten it up for the kill. If you are a good cook, no BBQ sauce needed!!!!!

I've been into birds for many years, and I put feeders out all winter. When the grackles and cowbirds show up, it is time to put the feed away. Spring is here, and the birds need to switch to natural feed, pests and bugs. The only feeder I keep year round is the yellow colored finch feeder...
