    The second amendment discussion

In response to the question of the militia section of the Second Amendment, Scalia stated it succinctly in the Heller decision: The amendment's prefatory clause announces a purpose, but does not limit or expand the scope of the second part, the operative clause. The operative clause text and...

    Stop Refrigerating Your Butter

We never keep our butter in the fridge. Its always in a butter dish on the counter. Now we do purchase butter in bulk and keep it frozen until we need to replace the counter supply.

How to dispose of tainted ammo?

Just cut the end off if you want and dump out the contents. Won't hurt you at all and very safe. Once you dump out the powder (do it on the sidewalk), you can light it and watch it burn like a fast sparkler. Modern smokeless powder has a much lower gas velocity than black powder and so is not...

Begging the question and how it relates to views on abortion

Then I imagine you would be okay sterilizing the undesirables? Why even give them the chance to reproduce? Forced abortions for those undesirables who slip through? The needs of the many supersede the needs of the few? I could see your stance on abortion up to a certain point in time for the...

In Iraq, I raided insurgents. In Virginia, the police raided

Inkd, I think you are spot on with your description above. One thing you did miss from the article, and a part that I have to agree with is that the police department in question's policy of rushing straight into an unknown situation. They need to do more along the lines of investigation as...

Sweet Tea to be banned in South Carolina

Another tidbit of fact is that free blacks (1 our of every 3) also owned slaves in every slave-allowing state in the union and before (even before the revolutionary war). In fact free blacks also owned white indentured servants. It was a black couple that took a case to court in 1654 to make a...

Sweet Tea to be banned in South Carolina

That's because, for the most part, slavery didn't exist in Appalachia. You do realize that West Virginia broke away from Virginia at the beginning of the Civil War because it wanted to remain in the Union and not fight for the Southern cause?

Sweet Tea to be banned in South Carolina

It's being flown over a confederate war memorial, not over the capital or some other position of prominence... over a confederate war memorial honoring those who died. That seems an appropriate place for it to be flying.

Karl Rove: Only Way To Stop The Violence Is To Repeal Second

I would assume its much easier to slide a knife into unsuspecting victims over and over again until someone is able to scream or alert others. Look at the knife attacks in China where thirty-some were killed in one rampage. Even easier would be the use of a gasoline bomb in a crowded area.

That doesn't mean the right doesn't exist, it is just being suppressed by a government.

Karl Rove: Only Way To Stop The Violence Is To Repeal Second

How do you repeal a fundamental, inherent right? You don't. You can repeal the governmental recognition and protection, but the right still remains inherent to the people and does not go away.
