I think the faceless controller looks a lot like BHO.
Nah. Obama even while in office clearly disliked the day to day work of actually BEING President.
He was and is a narcissist, and what he loved was the cheering crowds. reporters swooning and getting breathless talking to him, hobnobbing with Hollywood and musicians and the rich. THIS is what he gets to enjoy for the rest of his life and he barely needs to lift a finger.
If he wants to step into a campaign stop and talk for a while, if he wants to appear on TV and get praised and speak his piece about politics, he is content to do that.
But he hasn't been seen spending a lot of time in Washington. He has his legacy - and he's happy with that. As I think Carlson said, he will probably write his fifth or sixth autobiography and he'll be fine with that.
The question is then, who IS deciding things for Joe? And that might be anyone - or a whole staff of people. Jill alone seems to be running interference for him constantly, but she's no kingmaker. As haphazard as his decisions and remarks are, my bet is on a group of persons, because it's too damned stupid to be concocted by one savvy politician.
