It should be one of the biggest stories of a generation: uncovering the government’s coordinated efforts to violate the First Amendment rights of so many Americans.

But with a few exceptions, the mainstream media have ignored the reporting or ridiculed the factually undisputed reports of large-scale government censorship — the kind most Americans would have told you does not happen in our country.

Journalists Matt Taibbi and Michael Shellenberger were a credit to their profession and to all Americans who genuinely care about a free press and the First Amendment.

And Democrats — who questioned, mocked, belittled and scolded them for not meekly accepting government knows best and Americans should just unquestionably accept what the fearsome threesome of “security state-Big Tech-Democrat ruling elite” thinks we should be able to say, read and hear — were an embarrassment.

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) decried the censorship for affecting his ability to have an honest conversation with his constituents about the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s inaccurate vaccine information.

Twitter — working “in partnership” with the CDC — flagged Massie’s factually correct tweets about the superiority of natural immunity to the available COVID vaccines as “misinformation” and, worse, disabled comments.

The congressman pointed out that this made it impossible for his constituents to engage with him on the topic — in effect silencing them as well.

Halfway through his thread, titled “The Censorship-Industrial Complex,” Taibbi wrote: “Some NGOs, like the GEC-funded Global Disinformation Index or the DOD-funded NewsGuard, not only see content moderation but apply subjective ‘risk’ or ‘reliability’ scores to media outlets, which can result in a reduction in revenue.” Embedded in the post was a picture of a nearly $750,000 award from the Department of Defense to NewsGuard, an organization the independent journalists characterized as a “government-funded” entity implicated in the Censorship Complex.

In response to Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz’s question — “Who is NewsGuard?” — Shellenberger explained: “Both the Global Disinformation Index and NewsGuard are U.S. government-funded entities who are working to drive advertisers’ revenue away from disfavored publications and towards the ones they favor.” In Shellenberger’s words, “This is totally inappropriate.”

“If we do not take a look at NewsGuard,” Gaetz responded, “we have failed.”

NewGuard’s Co-CEO Gordon Crovitz emailed Taibbi the next morning to say, “There seems to be a fundamental misunderstanding about NewsGuard and our work.”

The latest Twitter Files installment focuses on Stanford University’s Virality Project, which federal agencies bankrolled to engage in “detecting and mitigating the impact of false and misleading narratives related to COVID-19 vaccines.” The Virality Project, partnering with other federal contractors, sent weekly “anti-vax disinformation” reports to Twitter and other social media companies.

Mike Benz, president of the Foundation for Freedom Online, notes that the project was “deputized by [Homeland Security] to censor millions of . . . opinions . . . about COVID.”

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey, whose lawsuit is shattering Biden administration coverups, described the program: Federal health officials in the Surgeon General’s Office, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Health and Human Services collaborated in a “censorship enterprise called the Virality Project, which procures the censorship of enormous quantities of First Amendment-protected speech.”

Disinformation warriors worked overtime to suppress “false” claims about the side effects of COVID vaccine, especially the true claims. Since the Food and Drug Administration officially (and speedily) approved COVID vaccines, any reports of side effects were automatically disinformation.

The Virality Project recommended that social-media companies suppress “stories of true vaccine side effects” and “true posts which could fuel [vaccine] hesitancy.” The project “routinely framed real testimonials about [vaccine] side effects as misinformation, from ‘true stories’ of blood clots from AstraZeneca vaccines to a New York Times story about vaccine recipients who contracted the blood disorder thrombocytopenia.”

The FDA now admits that the vaccines can cause strokes in senior citizens; many studies have linked the vaccines to myocarditis in young males.

The weaponized IRS also showed up to Matt Taibbi’s home on March 9 in an effort to intimidate him.

Taibbi told Jim Jordan that an IRS agent showed up unannounced to his Jersey home and left a note for him to call the tax agency.

Why did the IRS just show up to Matt Taibbi’s home?

No letter. No phone call to his tax preparer.

The IRS agent just showed up to the journalist’s home unannounced!

The Wall Street Journal reported:

Democrats are denouncing the House GOP investigation into the weaponization of government, but maybe that’s because Republicans are getting somewhere. That includes new evidence that the Internal Revenue Service may be targeting a journalist who testified before the weaponization committee.
House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan sent a letter Monday to IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen seeking an explanation for why journalist Matt Taibbi received an unannounced home visit from an IRS agent. We’ve seen the letter, and both the circumstances and timing of the IRS focus on this journalist raise serious questions.
Now Mr. Taibbi has told Mr. Jordan’s committee that an IRS agent showed up at his personal residence in New Jersey on March 9. That happens to be the same day Mr. Taibbi testified before the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government about what he learned about Twitter. The taxman left a note instructing Mr. Taibbi to call the IRS four days later. Mr. Taibbi was told in a call with the agent that both his 2018 and 2021 tax returns had been rejected owing to concerns over identity theft.

The IRS paid him a "Friendly Visit" just like the Mafia does for it's neighbors.

Never forget, Democrats <> Unions <> Mafia.

A century old Triad.

House Democrats Threaten Twitter Files Journalist With 5 Years In Prison

The accusations come after Taibbi accidentally testified that the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) worked with the Election Integrity Partnership (EIP) on content moderation on Twitter.

Mehdi Hasan, a journalist with MSNBC, accused Taibbi of lying and claimed that EIP only worked with the Center for Internet Security (CIS), not CISA. Hasan’s accusations have been debunked, however, by Lee Fang, a journalist with The Intercept, who unearthed emails proving that Taibbi was correct in his testimony.

Hasan is known for his left-wing political views and has been a vocal critic of the Trump administration and the Republican Party.

According to Fang, EIP had an internal ticketing system to flag content for censorship to Twitter, and an internal messaging system to alert both CIS and CISA. DHS/CISA elevated EIP-flagged tweets for Twitter. Furthermore, EIP’s annual report clearly states that the group was founded in consultation with CISA/DHS, and EIP’s director has stated that CISA-DHS was their main government partner.

Despite this evidence, Mehdi Hasan has refused to correct his falsehoods and has continued to defame Taibbi. In fact, he has even accused Taibbi of conflating CIS and CISA during his congressional testimony, which has no proof whatsoever.

Taibbi has been a vocal critic of government surveillance and has written extensively about the intersection of politics and technology.

This viral deception by Hasan has now led to House Democrats explicitly threatening Taibbi with imprisonment. Rep. Stacey Plaskett cited Mehdi Hasan’s accusations in a letter that floats the threat of 5 years of jail against Taibbi.

Democrat Rep. Threatens Independent Journalist Matt Taibbi With Jail Time Over ‘Twitter Files’ Testimony

Virgin Islands Democrat Rep. Stacey Plaskett threatened independent journalist Matt Taibbi with up to five years of prison for an alleged perjury charge over his “Twitter Files” testimony in front of Congress last month, citing an error in a tweet that he has since deleted.

“While these inaccuracies may seem minor to you, they could lead Congress to rely on inaccurate testimony in considering and/or passing new legislation which would impact all Americans,” Plaskett said in her letter to Taibbi.

Taibbi testified in a hearing on March 9 held by House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH), whose subcommittee on the weaponization of government is looking into the Federal Trade Commission’s treatment of Twitter. Plaskett, a non-voting member of the House and the panel’s ranking member, pressed Taibbi and author Michael Schellenberger about how they vetted internal Twitter emails and instant messages, which revealed how the social media platform allegedly worked with government agencies, including the FBI, to suppress conservatives on the platform.

During the hearing, Taibbi told Congressman Chris Stewart (R-UT) that he and Schellenberger witnessed in the Twitter Files that Twitter executives did not distinguish between specific government agencies, including the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the Election Integrity Partnership (EIP).

“For instance, we would see a communication that said, From

‘Most Damning’ About FBI: New Twitter Files Expose FBI-Ukraine Plot to Censor Users

According to The Twitter Files, FBI Special Agent Aleksandr Kobzanets sent a list of 163 accounts to Twitter in March 2022. The agent did so on behalf of “Ukraine’s main intelligence agency,” SBU, with the following comment: “These accounts are suspected by the SBU in spreading fear and disinformation.” The now-infamous FBI Special Agent Elvis Chan was copied on the email according to a screenshot shared by Maté.

The email, which included an attached SBU memo, listed accounts that SBU accused of being “used to disseminate disinformation and fake news to inaccurately reflect events in Ukraine.” The accounts, SBU claimed, also justified alleged “war crimes” and a “violation of international law.” The screenshots from Maté showed SBU requesting Twitter “to stop Russian aggression on the information front” by choosing “to block these Twitter accounts and provide us with user data.” The user data SBU wanted would have included phone numbers and dates of birth, per Maté’s Substack.

Maté explained that “The Ukrainian government’s FBI-enabled list of accounts marked for censorship extends to members of the media.” His name and Twitter profile appeared alongside Russian journalists’.

According to Twitter’s response through Yoel Roth, Twitter told the FBI it would review the targeted accounts, Maté noted. Roth, however, voiced concerns about SBU’s inclusion of Canadian and American journalists, including Maté’s name. He was open to being convinced, though.

The FBI dismissed its censorship request as “assistance to Ukraine,” Maté tweeted. But he has a different interpretation, tweeting, the “FBI’s attempt to ban Twitter accounts at the request of Ukrainian intelligence is among the most overt requests for censorship” yet uncovered by The Twitter Files.
