The Tri-County Animal Shelter is joining Petfinder.com to celebrate “Adopt-A-Less-Adoptable-Pet” week, September 17–25. Many times families overlook the black animals, the old animals, disabled animals, or the animals that are in the shelter for an extended stay. Tri-County Animal Shelter is encouraging potential adopters to consider pets they may not have previously considered adopting.
During this weeklong celebration, the Tri-County Animal Shelter is reducing the adoption fee to $50 for black animals, animals seven years old or older, disabled animals, and animals that have been in the shelter for more than 30 days.
Petfinder.com will also be featuring a gallery of “less adoptable” pets on its website during the weeklong event to highlight just how many pets need to be adopted into good homes.
The Tri-County Animal Shelter posts its adoptable pets on Petfinder at Tri-County Animal Shelter or you can also view them at www.CharlesCounty.org/ES/AnimalControl.
The Tri-County Animal Shelter is located at 6707 Animal Shelter Road in Hughesville. The shelter staff can be reached at 301-932-1713 or 800-903-1992. Adoption hours are Monday through Friday, noon – 5 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
