Little girl suspended 24 days from school for smelling bad - News, Weather and Classifieds for Southern New England

WASHINGTON COUNTY, TN (WJHL) - A Washington County 2nd grade student has missed at least 24 days of school this school year, all because of what is described as her foul odor.

The school system has suspended the eight year-old multiple times since October because of that bad smell.

"They just say it's a foul odor," her mother Krystal Hensley said. "She takes a bath every day, but they ask her when the last time she took a bath was and she don't remember. She's been to the doctor and it's not a medical problem. They send her home at least once a month. You go to school to learn, not to be sent home."

Yeah, that was a pretty mean and ignorant post to make wasn't it...:ohwell:

nah.... the woman looks like my neighbors mother.... and hate to say it...

the looks... were correct on their hygine... (and she wasnt too bright.... she would tell you stories... and you would learn how dirty they were....
and then she dropped it on me with her daughter standing there ... about how her daughter had a bad case of scabies and they all ended up with them.... yeah... sometimes you CAN judge a book by its cover)

there were many days were the one that had three kids would walk outside and you could tell she had not bathed in DAYS....... and the kids would stink of body funk!!!

I remember when my oldest was about 3 years old. She had this horrible smell to her that would not wash off. She bathed and brushed her teeth and it was still there. I even took her to the Dr. and they could not find where the smell was coming from. She went thru a spell where she was not wanting to eat much other than mac & cheese and after a few days the smell was gone. As soon as she started eating good again she started smelling really bad again. After some experimenting we came to the conclusion that she ate so many onions that the smell of them were seeping thru her pores. She ate onion rings, fried onions or some sort of onions just about every day. Once we cut out the (really just cut back) onions she has not stunk since.

A lot of liver issues (hepatitis, cancer, cirrhosis...) will cause acute BO.

I think that the teachers and principal must eat a lot of Mexican food with cumin in it, and everything smells like BO to them.
