The golden era of muscle cars witnessed multiple brands launching powerful and strong offerings in the American market for buyers looking for high-powered vehicles at affordable prices. These classic cars were also appreciated for their aggressive looks, a massive road presence and raw driving experience.

While most modern cars offer better powertrain options and great dynamics, they lack the character and driving experience that vintage muscle cars offer, forcing buyers to consider going for classic car options to relive the era gone by. With the statistics coming from Consumer Reports and JD Power, here are 10 classic V8 muscle cars that you can consider in 2023 based on their performance, user experience, and used car market prices.

1966 Dodge Coronet – 0-60 MPH In 5 Seconds

1968 Buick Skylark GS 400 – 0-60 MPH In 6.3 Seconds

1985 Pontiac Trans Am. My favorite car ever. She sleeps at my place in Callaway.
I called her the whiplash machine. No car corners like that.

1969 Dodge Charger. She lives at my house under cover. Totally restored and a beauty.

I LOVE the old muscle cars!

A Woman that lived across the street from my grandfather bought a 66 GTO right out of college. Still had it parked in front of her house in 2001 when we sold his house.

There was a 7D gal that had a nice old GTO and she'd had it painted pink. She was never hard to spot...

I had a 65 Mustang Coupe, 289, automatic, no other frills.

drove it everywhere, never had a problem I couldn’t fix in a few minutes where it was.

it was also my first total rebuild of an engine. I have a lot of good memories driving or working on that car.
