10 years old is old enough to understand things like this so that is what I don't understand, evidentally he knew that it would lead to death. I mean would he ride his bike out into traffic too?

Perhaps he didn't see the actual execution, just the noose being placed around the neck. They've aired it over and over on FNC.

Did you watch the video Andy?

It clearly said that it was watched on a Spanish speaking channel and that he asked his uncle if that is how they killed him, he responded "yes because he was a bad man"

Maybe he had done something wrong and was told he was a "bad boy" and thought it was logical. Parents have to be careful with their words. Action - bad, kid - loved. Not you are a bad boy for hitting Tommy, but it was wrong to hit Tommy; I still love you, but you need to appologize to Tommy for hitting him. JMHO

appology all depends on what tommy did.

example, some boy whos locker is next to my daughters locker keeps pushing her. the other day he tried to take and tear up her homework sheets. I told her to tell the teachers. she did, but for whatever reason, they dont feel as if it is a big enough issue to warrent speaking to the other child.

I gave my daughter full permission to wipe the halls with the kid if he continued.

I found out today that he pushed her again, she turned around and pushed him so hard he fell and started crying.

Im not going to have her apologize, and I dare the school to call me and make a complaint.

In the case you describe, fully justified.

What I was pointing to is that even if a child is the instigator, the child is not bad, the child's actions are bad, and the child is accountable for their actions and must make amends.

That is different from the psycho-babel-ologists that say the person is good, the action is bad, but the person is not accountable for the action.

It is sad what happened, but I was thinking the same thing. The boy was 10 years old and maybe some kids are more matured then others to know not to do something like that. But it makes you wonder if he thought in his mind he did something bad or somebody said he was a "bad" boy because he did question his one uncle after seeing the video if that's how they kill people and the uncle said yes and he said - that's good. So makes you wonder why he would mimic it.

J.F. A sus ordenes!
What if the kid was just mimicking the scene he saw and just slipped? It could happen. Kids will be kids and don't always think things through. God, I am 39 and still don't have all my ducks in a row when I do things sometimes. Of course I don't wrap sheets around my neck.

He could have just been acting out the scene and really didn't understand the outcome of what can happen. Maybe he thought a sheet is not as thick as a rope. But it just seems wierd that a 10 year old would wrap sheets around his neck then hang himself from a bunk bed especially after questioning his uncle and the uncle saying that's how they kill bad people. Either ways it's sad for the family because they will never really know why.

We probably all do things without really thinking first - that's why we learn from our mistakes. But in this case it was too late.
