American and Iraqi forces have carried out 452 raids since the June 7 airstrike on al-Zarqawi, and 104 insurgents were killed in those actions, said U.S. military spokesman Maj. Gen. William Caldwell.

The nationwide raids led to the discovery of 28 significant arms caches, Caldwell said.

He said 255 of the raids were joint operations, while 143 were carried out by Iraqi forces alone. The raids also resulted in the captures of 759 "anti-Iraqi elements."

I hope as you say. Must say tho, confused as to why they would announce they have info. Seems it would give ones that have yet to be caught a chance to run and hide.

Predictable is what it is. And very much so angry. Unreal how they're still braying about how Iraq is such a big disaster. Shameful.

Well, it's been a week and over 450 raids so maybe they have played out the data they found and I suspect the "grapevine" in Iraq has already spread the word for them to crawl into their spider holes like Saddam did.

You would think that the media would give this type of news equal footing as the US death toll reaching 2,500. But no, the media would rather report only the down side and none of the progress being made. I wonder if Clinton had been equipped with the balls to take action like this what the news would be reporting given the exact facts and figures we have now?

Well that's what the media wants you to believe. I think reporting it all instead of a one-sided approach is what the media should do. While there is freedom of the press the press shouldn't determine what is or isn't of interest to us nor should they be allowed to only show things in a manner that furthers their political beliefs.

Yeah; I think it's that people have been fed that line for so many years that the public automatically thinks that way. Lo, when a news organization comes along and tries to be more even-handed (i.e., FOX) they beat the pants off MSNBC and CNN.

This would read a lot better if it said 869 Islamofascists killed.

Now what do they do with the 759 prisoners.?

They have to guard them, feed them ,and listen to Amnesty International ##### about how badly they are treated.

Much better just to bury them, and safer too.

I'd rather keep them around. They can make some of the necessary materials inside the prison for the great rebuilding effort.:yay:

ANd nobody has gone to jail yet for the mistreatment of dead combatants..
