Revelation 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.
2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:
3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.
4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.
Well let's go to the commentary.Having His Father’s name written on their foreheads: The followers of Satan and the beast may have a mark on their hand or forehead (Revelation 13:16-17). But this mark is just a copy of the idea behind the identifying mark on the foreheads of each one of the 144,000, showing that they belong to the Father.
There is actually something in the commentary that suggests that the 144,000 were women. The commentary says the term "virgin" was generally applied to women rather than men. The commentary refutes that....Commonly the term virgins is applied to women, not men. So does the use of virgins here mean that all the 144,000 are women? Not at all, according to the great Greek scholar A.T. Roberston: “Parthenos can be applied to men as well as women.”
Wait.... Is it possible that Jesus plans to use 144,000 virgin women in His army? Is this one of those times in translation that a man would say... "He couldn't possibly mean women.... it has to be men... it's an army!"? Do we just accept that it will be 144,000 Jewish men who are chosen to be part of the army of Jesus? Is it possible that Jesus chose female humans to prove He didn't have to depend on bigheaded men?
At any rate.... Jesus and His army of 144,000 are set.
144,000 are marked!
