Asbury Solomons held its 16th annual Mardi Gras fundraiser in support of Calvert Hospice on March 2. The event raised $5,770 to support Calvert Hospice.

According to Pat and Barbara O'Neal, the event's organizers for the last six years, over 68 Asbury residents attended along with their guests. The Chesapeake Swing Band entertained everyone through the evening, creating a festive atmosphere. The Asbury Dining Department provided a mixture of New Orleans-inspired and traditional hors d'oeuvres as well as a cash bar. Guests enjoyed a 50/50 raffle and the crowning of the 2019 Mardi Gras King (Jim Hardin) and Queen (Pam Hawkins).

The O'Neals and other organizers appreciate the help the administration at Asbury provides each year to put this fundraiser together. Calvert Hospice would like to express our sincere appreciation to everyone who made this event possible.
