...finally scored one! And a breakdown model too. In .45 Colt. Stainless steel.

Can't wait to go shoot it.

I replaced my lost 30-30 Winchester and .45-70 Handi-Rifle with one new rifle..albeit a lot weaker one.

Yep. That's the one I bought. I've seen a bunch of really stellar reviews for the rifle. Nothing but goodness. Now to find a sidearm that shoots the same cartridge.

Shoot, that's an easy one. How much you wanna spend ? :lmao: I got one of these and, for the money, it's a very nice shooter. http://www.heritagemfg.com/product_listing.cfm?cat_id=3

Of course something prettier that was a tad pricier http://www.ruger.com/products/vaqueroStainless/models.html

Something else to consider is a judge

I've already found a very lightly used Vaquero for $475 including a cleaning kit and 100 rds. I really like some of the .45 Colt offerings from Uberti. I had one of their black power .36 Navy Colts and thought the detail and finish was excellent.

Added: Thanks for that Heritage link. Found some NIB on line for around $450-475...about the same range as Charles Daly Colt knockoffs..

Depends on the model. A 5.5" blued version (RR45B5) msrp is $389.00

Of course there are always options to consider

Sure. As long as they'll take a check.... I was over at a guy's house last weekend who collects Winchester lever guns, mostly .30-30, and Colt 45 pistols. The majority of the them were unfired. I'm sure that some of the pieces in his collection were worth a LOT.

I've never been interested in being that "kind" of collector....I like to shoot mine.
