1950's Decor

Is it all make believe?
Is there anyplace local that sells 1950's decor? (within 50 miles or so) I'm considering converting my basement to this theme. I'm kinda going for a 1950's diner look. Any decorating ideas would be helpful also.

I know someone who has a fridge from that era that is fixing up to sell. He's re-doing his kitchen in the 50's era and has extra stuff.

The SPOT thrift shop in St Leonard has had some cool "retro" furniture the past couple of times I have been in there. They are open 10-5 Weds-Sat and Sundays 12-5.

Good luck finding anything local. Your'e best bet is to buy online.. I love the retro look on kitchens.

I have an early 60's stove I picked up FREE in Lusby from freecycle. It was pretty filthy but I cleaned it up and use it as a display piece in my store. It still worked but I removed all the asbestos (sp)wiring.

Good find! :yay: I wish they hadn't sold the one that was in the farm house.. That thing was so neat and I think a wood stove makes food taste better.
