While the hot ticket for Valiant Chargers is the E49 with the Hemi six-cylinder, good luck getting the collectors in Oz to let one of those out of their hands. Also, good luck explaining to North American collector car fans asking questions at car shows that the six-cylinder version (and not the V-8 version) is the one that's the stuff of legends. So, in a way, this 340-powered 1973 Chrysler VJ Valiant Charger E55 listed for sale on Hemmings.com may make sense for American collectors, especially given that it's already been exported from Australia. Doesn't hurt that it appears complete, straight, and in need of little to attend those aforementioned car shows. From the seller's description:

#31 of only 210 Built. Its a 1973 Chrysler Valiant VJ E55 770 Charger. A very limited amount of these Australian Designed and built 2 door Chargers were ever built with the North American 340's and 727 transmissions, this one was built in March of 1973. I imported this one into Canada over 30 years ago and has been garaged ever since and rarely driven. This particular Charger started life as a Sherwood Green addition but I had it repainted to the Hot Mustard colour you see here. The rear diff has been rebuilt (not original to the car) with an Auburn Suregrip and 3.54 gear set. It now sports "extractors" (headers to us North Americans) and dual exhaust, rebuilt steering box, brakes, recovered seats. Still needs a new headliner (Supplied) and some small fixes to be completed. These are super rare in Australia and are commanding top prices. If you are tired of seeing the same cars over and over at the local car shows this is the trophy winner for you.
