"DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — The mother of a dual French-Swiss teenager who was sexually assaulted in a case that has shaken this booming Gulf city said Thursday she is outraged that Dubai authorities initially told her a defendant in the case was not HIV positive, when the man already had tested positive.

Veronique Robert, the mother, also said in an interview with The Associated Press in Paris that her 15-year-old son remains deeply shaken by the July assault, and said she believed Dubai officials gave incorrect information about the defendant's HIV status because they were trying to cover up any links to AIDS in the country. The AP is using her name with her agreement, but is not identifying the son."

"Rape of a male is not usually considered a crime"? I nearly choked when I read that further on in the Fox Article. Will they charge the older man with reckless endangerment for possibly passing on the HIV? For the man's HIV status to be deliberately withheld is just outrageous.
