2 stroke or 4 stroke?

We ran both for years while racing MX. I have been out of it for awhile but here ya go.

2 smoker - easy to work on. Parts are cheaper. Easily tuned for the rider. Depending on the brand seems to jump better (more balanced) Just sounds way to cool when you hit the pipe!

4-broke - When it's running it runs like a champ. Has tons of power. When it breaks (esp the motor) then there goes the kids college fund.

a plus for the 4 stroke - usually....they are perfect off of the showroom floor. No need to add extras as most people can't handle the power they come with anyway.

This is all based on dirtbikes of course.

Also to add - the two stroke could have extensive work performed on it at the track where as the 4 stroke requires some serious tools and manuals.

Nothing like changing a top end out in the back of a trailer before a heat race. 4 stroke - not so much!

I'm an old two stroke junkie, have had many from the YZ80, 125's & 250's.
Love the powerband, aftermarket reeds along with the FMF pipes.
Had a wicked quick banshee also, that's a 350 twin cylinder. I sent a many a 660 raptor home with their tail between their legs with that piece. And the Honda's, hehehe don't even waste my time, busted a sad one of those..
I also had a RM125, and that biatch was bad a** too.
So for me 2 strokes rule, everything else was eating my roost!
