2 Thessalonians 1:3 We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing. 4 Therefore, among God’s churches we boast about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring

b.2 Thessalonians 1:3 The Greek word for brothers and sisters (adelphoi) refers here to believers, both men and women, as part of God’s family; also in 2:1, 13, 15; 3:1, 6, 13.

Don't you just love it when someone thanks you for something you do?

God loves it too!

According to the commentary that's what these verses are about. In 1 Thessalonians 3:12 Paul, Silas, and Timothy had asked that God cause the people to love each other more. God had answered their prayer. According to the commentary, Paul, Silas, and Timothy went around telling everyone how much the Thessalonians loved one another.

So Paul, Silas, and Timothy are telling us, in these verses, to thank God for answered prayers.

I'm thankful this morning that I am among the sisters and brothers of faith. I have a Father who sets the example for all Fathers. I have brothers and sisters who love the Lord and each other because He taught us Love. I have my Brother Jesus Christ who would do anything, including giving up His own life, for me. I will be part of this magnificent family forever. I am thankful.
