Poor Baby! When I worked in Family Practice, I HATED having to give them their Shots. If the Parent got teary-eyed, I'd follow suit sometimes. Keep the Tylenol handy for today anyway. He won't need any more immunizations until he's 4, or 5 years old. When they hit that age, it's real hard to hold them down.

It get fun when they are older. I get to sit and watch the panic come over their faces when the Dr tells them they'll need shots. If I'm not mistaken, my 9 yr old is due for one at his next visit in a few weeks.

I get the need for them, but it's so harsh to hold them down and the screaming and my son is not little or light for his age, I'll recruit the husband to hold him down I think.

I feel your pain :huggy:

I've taken our little guy to most of his doctor's appointments because I'm off every other Friday so on most of the initials for the shots are mine. He just had his 1 year shots and he jumped when the needle went in. OMG it was horrible! I seriously thought the nurse was going to cry. She kept apologizing and saying "that's never happened before", "he's so strong", "I didn't expect him to move like that", "I'm so so sorry". I actually felt bad for both of them.

I told hubby that under no circumstances will I be taking him for his 18 month or 4 year shots...it's his turn. He agreed but I don't think he realizes how hard it's going to be with Jayden being that much older :sniffle:

Yeah, I turn when they give him shots, I feel like it's a trust issue, like if I'm looking at him and JAB and he see's me being part of the pain. I know, I know, overanalyzing. He's not small and he's strong, even my husband says how strong he is, and he's over 35 lbs !!! He'll kick and scream I guarantee it, if you see a mushroom cloud in Prince Frederick around 3 p.m. that's Chase getting his shots !! :cds::cds::cds:

Awww poor baby! And I feel bad for Chase too!! Seriously though, I'm with you on not wanting him to associate you with the shots; hence the reason I asked (err, told) my husband I'm not going for the next couple of batches. I feel like he looks at me like "Whyyyyyy?! Why are you letting them do this to me?!? :bawl:"

Aghhh heartbreaking :frown:

All done. And luckily that's it for 2 years :yay: !!
Made husband hold his arms and the other 2 nurses are like ninjas with those needles, props to them, they were SO fast I didn't even have time to put my purse down turned around and they were done and doctor was making a balloon animal for him. Whew... glad it's over !!

Pelers, now you have to go through that vicious cycle AGAIN !! :cds:

Apparently when I was a baby I could care less about the shots but don't let them try to put a band-aid on it! Now as I got older, I ran & hid. Still don't like needles today!

Does anyone elses toddler grind their teeth at night? I just heard it for the first time last evening and been reading this morning and most articles say it's attributed to 2 year molars and pain. This would make sense because he's usually been sleeping all through the night with the exception of just recently when he's been waking up, possible tooth pain? The grinding sounds terrible.

For a couple months he ground them while awake. Even thinking about the noise it made makes me shudder and twitch.

He grew out of it. Thank goodness.

Yeah, it woke me out of a sound sleep last night. I read it's not uncommon, I do it, my husband does it too.

Yes, mine did it all the time. They outgrow it. Took a couple years though.
