The Charles County Department of Community Services offers many trips and tours throughout the calendar year-bus trips, overnight trips, and "Fly Away" trips in which you travel to far away destinations such as Panama and the Colorado Rockies.
SCENIC RAILROAD - CUMBERLAND, MD
Travel through the spectacular scenery of the Allegheny Mountains, by steam or restored diesel engine, while the narrator provides information about scenery, history, and culture. First class passengers are seated at reserved tables in restored dining cars or cafe car. Lunch served aboard. Dessert and coffee served during return trip. A stop will be made at a fruit stand on the trip home. Trip Date: Saturday, October 20. Registration Deadline: September 20. Trip Fee: $112 per person.

PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH COUNTRY - LANCASTER, PA
Arrive at Kitchen Kettle Village for shopping and lunch on your own. Enjoy a guided tour of Amish Farmlands with a Christmas stocking and chocolate bar for each passenger. See the National Christmas Center with a star ornament for each passenger, and the Amish Bake Shop with a Whoopie Pie for each passenger. Dinner included in a real Amish home.
