The tomatoes in pots recovered very nicely. Just starting to get flowers. Was going to head up to my storage unit to get a couple of 'mater cages.

That's a task I no longer need to do, TYVM deer. :sigh:
Thick, nylon deer fencing is your friend.

Figs! Figs! Figs!

My bush LOVED being pruned, I've never seen so many figs!

My dog loves them, and everything I read says they are good for dogs, in moderation.

My fig tree had a BUMPER CROP this year. Picked 2 dozen this afternoon for Son. Picked a dozen last week for my neighbor. Picked the BIG ones earlier in the year after all the rain. I made fig tarts. Shared them too. So many more not ready yet. The fig is at least 45 years old. I love it.

Do you know the type of fig? We're looking at planting a Chicago Hardy.

Watch where you walk!

What care does your fig require? Mine never set fruit?

Well, bok choy is not hardy like regular cabbage, the cold really smacked it hard. But we enjoyed a few meals with it. I will plant it again.

Got the broccoli in too late, never made heads. Maybe it'll do something in the spring.

And no one reminded me to thin the hosta. I may just do it in the spring.

I've been working in the garden between trips fishing in NC and MX. Took down old fencing installed in 1996 rat wire 3' high a deer fence 7' above that with assorted new fence posts and cables. Hopefully this will be the last time, hope the kids will take over.
