Sprouted yellow onion

Found an old yellow onion way in the back of my cupboard that has sprouted. Is it worth my time to plant it outside or should I just toss it?

What's the worst thing that could happen if you plant it??

We found a bag of onions sprouting in our pantry when we moved.. but I have a BRAZILLION onions growing in the field now.. along with 10 BRAZILLION dandelions.

Ok, onion sets are small and they grow into large onions. What does an already large onion grow into if you plant it? :lmao: I'm curious!
