I hope his sausage doesnt die with him, LOL, I just wanted to be the first one to say that .

Jimmy RIP pal.

Too bad, I met him in Maine years ago. He would bring his yacht into Boothbay Harbor for a week and hang out. Funny guy.

He was a real fixture in the Richmond area, generous to a fault.

RIP JD.

Surely you jest ...
He was a down home unpretentious, good people. In his D.C. days he was Big Bad John to this (then) 8 year old... I called him Mr. John lol. A smile a mile wide. Yes, my parents knew him, meaning of course so did I. He bought a car from our neighbor even. Funny how most people forget all stars were once just 'everyday Joes and Janes' in the begining. "Stricks" in Hillcrest Heights (a dew drop inn type joint) in the day welcomed many greats and he was certainly one of them. First known for his music. ;)

My prayers are with his family and all his many friends he gathered in the lean days as well as the bountiful ones.
