Thanks for the encouragement.
Yeah - the hardest part is eating enough cal and from the right sources. I need to find a personal foods list that will work with my metabolism. Certain foods are on my no-no list (excessive sugar content and that includes natural sugars too, processed grains, too many fats, et..).

I was losing about a 1lb a week before I went on a Dr. managed program with limited exercise due to the program. Now I'm having problems finding my groove again. And not that it's any easier that I hit my maintence phase right at Thanksgiving and into the holiday period.

I've started back at the gym (right next door) on the eliptical 3x a week (have to watch those knees and old shin splints) and some upper body resistance for now. I'll ramp up slowly. If I maintain my current weight through December I'll be happy, losing any would be a bonus :)

Quit the diet for a couple of weeks, then start over. Supposedly this tricks your body or some such. The hard part is probably going back to the diet after you've fallen off the wagon.

Congrats on your weight loss! 70 lbs is incredible!

Good job!

Good job! Keep it up!

might want to throw in some light weight or resistance training in there twice a week... more muscle burns more calories

Yeah I can realate. I am on the last 20 lbs myself and it is going to make me completely insane.

I have been following the plan to the T the last couple of weeks and I dropped a pound. Sigh..

I have to watch my sodium intake.

The last couple lbs SUCK. I gained 65 lbs with the monster :faint: I thought it would never come off, especially since I gained about 18 lbs the first trimester, which I can't really blame on babykins cuz you aren't sup to gain anything then :(

7.5 months later I am down 55, and have 10 to go..and it is kicking my behind. However, lately I have been doing much better with two things..Pinterest, and an app on my droid called "loseit" (theres a website too if no droid)

Pinterest is an online pinboard type website where you can search for and "pin" (or save) pictures to your site..I find pinning pics of strong, hot chicks really helps me stay focused :killingme. Also, there are pics with links to a million workouts, easy and healthy recipes, and lots of motivational pics..Its so corny, but when I want to have a snack I don't need or eat something I am not sup to, it helps to go look at the things I have pinned and my goals and reconsider it. Plus, I have found some great workouts and ideas.

Loseit is the coolest app ever! it is basically a food journal with pretty much every food and restaurant in a searchable list, even cooler, there is a barcode scanner so you can scan things into your food journal. I don't eat a lot of packaged things, but you can scan ingredients too when you are making something and input the amount. It calculates cals for you and shows you a tracker of your daily intake, along with a searchable list of exercises that "subtract" cals from what you eat. i found that some of the mindless snacking I was doing added up, and this helps me control that. Plus it is incentive to do some cardio to see the cals go down :killingme

These two things seemed to be the boost I needed to help me break through these last 10.

I have to tell you, I read this and was figuring on going back on a hard core diet any day now(I've been on the low cal diet meals forever and drink 90+ oz of water every day), not rushing it because of the holidays and all. I read your post and downloaded that app you mentioned, DREADING stepping on the scale and putting it in my phone, and HOLLY CRAP, I'm 10 lbs lighter than when I got pregnant !!! I had a c-section and I knew weight had shifted around and was feeling how different clothing fit, but I figured I was about 15+ pounds heavier...NOW THAT'S SOME MOTIVATION TO KEEP GOING and lose more !!

Shift your target weight to 20 lbs more than you actually want to lose. Then those last 20 lbs you're trying to lose now will be a cinch. :yahoo:

rub it in why dontcha :bigwhoop:

:killingme I have 10 lbs to go, but my body is different now. Because of nursing, my thighs are super slim..all of my jeans are baggy :killingme but now because my bottom is smaller it makes my top look bigger..so I am not really sure what weight is going to look best now because I obv carry weight differently..so it's not surprising that you were off on your weight..I am thinking I may need to lose a few on top of what I was before to get the look I want.
