Destination: Smokey Bones Barbeque and Grill in Fredericksburg, VA.
http://www.smokeybones.com/

Start: WaWa at the Rt. 235/5 split

Kickstands up 11:30

We'll be stopping at the truck stop just north of the Harry Nice bridge (Rt.301) to get our $3 toll money in our hot little hands. Any riders from Charles or PG counties could rondevu there. Be there by noon.

We'll be heading in on Rt.218, very nice bike road. Gas stop on the return leg will be the Sheets station in Dalghren so we can fill up on the cheap VA gas.

Ride Route

We'll pop across Rt.5 from the WaWa to Old Village Rd. then left on Baptist Church Rd. That will take us down to a right on Rt.238 (Chaptico Rd) and then right on Rt.234 (Budds Creek Rd). We'll follow that out to Rt.301.
There will be a short stop at the Truck stop just north of the bridge so we can get $3 in our hot little hands and pick up any riders from Charles and PG counties that don't want to come down to the WaWa. Cross the bridge and then take a right on Rt.206, then another right onto Rt.218.
That's a NICE bike road, enough curves to be interesting, but not scary sharp for the newbies. We'll turn left on Ferry Rd which takes us to Rt.3. We'll be about 100 yards past the Rt.3 bypass, so we'll turn left at the Ferry Rd/Rt.3 light and then a right on the bypass. We'll follow that across I95 to a right on the Carl D. Silver Pkwy. Google maps shows Smokey Bones @ 1801 Carl D Silver Pkwy on the right.

Same route home, with a gas stop at the Sheetz in Dalghren. If anybody wants to hit the cigarette store just north of there, we can hang out at Sheetz for a few while they run up and back to Sheetz. I expect folks will be peeling off on the return ride to accommodate a quick return home.
We will be turning left on Rt.238 in Chaptico to Rt.5.
This is the official end of the group ride. North (left) on Rt.5 will take you back to the WaWa.
For those from the Lex Park area, we'll head south on Rt.5 (right), then a left on Busy corner Rd. cross Rt.247 (Loveville Rd) to Bishop Rd. in Morganza. Right on Friendship School Rd than a left on Jones Rd. Right on McIntosh to a left on Rt.245 (Hollywood/Leonardtown Rd.) Right on St. Johns and we'll be on Rt.235 south of Hollywood.

Not to worry, I have a cellulose navigation system. I would like to have comms with the back of the pack since I have a tendency to ride a little fast

Foxhound

If it wasn't for the Weeble ride I would have been going. This looks like a great weekend for a ride!!!! I'm psyched. First long ride since last year. Hope everyone has a great time and keep em smile side up!!!

If I hadn't posted this ride, I'd be going to see Weeble. Glad I was able to get the Motorcycle stamp plaque to Oootis to raffle off in the fund raiser.
You guys ride safe and stay out of the newspapers :yay:

Quite a few have radios and the same question is posted on the forums for the 2 local SCRC chapters. Getting folks to respond can be difficult

I prefer cellulite navigation...everybody just follow the fat guy, he's easiest to see. :lmao:

8 bikes, 11 riders.
Nice size group. Enough folks to have fun, not to many to worry about losing anybody.
Poped over a hill on 218 and a buzzard was in the road having lunch. I'm blowing the horn and he takes off...
S L O W L Y
Much slower than I thought he would and he slides over directly in front of me :yikes:
I had to duck to miss him
Very good food at Smokey Bones, nice portions, reasonabley priced. Wouldn't mind going back :yay:

It was a fun ride! Many thanks for setting it up Aps! The food was good and the company was even better!

Nice to meet you DukesDad. (I was the ponytail passenger.) I'm glad that you found your cover!

I don't know if any of the others that were in attendance are forumites, but if so, it was nice to meet you too!
