Birth Certificates

Where does one go to get these? I am getting conflicitng responses and would rather not drive all over Maryland if I dont need to. TIA :howdy:

You can get one at the Health Dept. in a few min. if you were born in MD. I think it costs abouy $20.

All counties in MD have Health Dept. I've gone to the one in Prince Frederick, near the hospital to get them.

Out of state, I had to call the county office that held birth records, cost a few bucks, once they received the money they mailed me the new one.

I just went and got my daughters last week from Calvert County Health Dept. Make sure you bring $20 cash only with you and a picture id. I went to Calvert because she was born at Calvert Hospital.

They don't make a copy of the original and certify it?

Imagine that.

Too bad your boy wasn't born in Maryland, huh?

Maryland does have the original on file though. Hmmm... I wonder if all states do?
