John Boehner, Michele Bachmann, and the GOP Divide

"In his little red book, Chairman Mao wrote “revolution is not a tea party.” The GOP leadership in the U.S. House of Representatives has already started to learn this lesson the hard way.

The 112th Congress has been in session for less than a month and already there are already signs of the sharp divisions between the GOP House leadership and rank and file Republican members in the Tea Party caucus. The leader of the Tea Party caucus in the House is Rep. Michele Bachmann. The first sign of trouble came when Speaker of the House John Boehner denied Congresswoman Bachmann a minor post on the GOP leadership team. [Check out a roundup of political cartoons on the Tea Party.]

The representative from Minnesota was not pleased and returned the favor by staging her own unofficial response to President Obama’s State of the Union speech. By doing this, Rep. Bachman upstaged the official response to President’s speech by the leadership’s budget guru, Rep. Paul Ryan who chairs the House Budget Committee.

Well played Congresswoman Bachmann."

She made a better speech than Ryan.
If Boehner wants to ignore her he is just hurting himself.
The GOP RINO's are yesterdays news. We will unload another bunch of them in 2012. Crybaby Boehner may be one of them.

There's lots of division......this article is from September -when it was still okay to use the word "gun"...

Newt Gingrich spoke to a closed-door breakfast of the Republicans of the House the other day after the last primaries, and the irony you need to know is that the only members who showed up were the clueless Boehner crew, who are not in on the joke that in the GOP cloakroom they call Newt "Fat Elvis."

The young House members have spent the last four years living under siege from the Democratic battalions while their ranks thinned and their cash dwindled, and all the while Newt Gingrich was in the pulpit of Fox News castigating them for their gutlessness. The young remember the scoldings and the sermons, and, much like a child who grew up to be a star athlete, they resent having been kicked by Grandpa Gingrich when they were helpless—and yet they are not yet ready to belt back at him now that he comes preening to show how much he loves them.

"The young people who have no ties to him," an observer explains of Gingrich, "they think, what an a#####e."
