Summerstock Production Musical presents - River City Summer Social which will be held on Sunday, July 17 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the Governmental Center grounds in Leonardtown. There is no cost for this event.

This family-friendly event brings to life a town park in River City, Iowa, 1912. This was the year that the Titanic sank, when Edward was King in England, and railroads were king in America. You’ll meet Harold Hill, the Music Man himself, and his lovely Marion, Madame Librarian. The full cast, in complete Edwardian-period costume, will appear, performing music from the show and socializing with the crowd. And an authentic barbershop quartet will regale guests with four-part harmony.

There will be lawn games such as croquet, badminton, and horseshoes, three-legged races and sack races, spoon races, and more. Children will delight in learning to play with turn-of-the-century toys, such as marbles, jacks, jump ropes and may also enjoy our craft tables.

Bring your blankets or lawn chairs and be prepared to have a good time! Feel free to wear your finest old-fashioned costumes and hats!

Various toys, hats, yummy treats and beverages for all may be purchased!
