One stimulous project came in 80K under the amount of stimulous money awarded. So, instead of that money going back, the county applies to use it on another project. And takes the county money that had been budgeted for that and puts it back in the county coffers. Yeah, Steny. :bigwhoop:

Yeah, Steny? You might want to read the article. It was the County Commissioners who shifted the money around, not Steny.

Ah, but they could only shift it because the Feds let them keep the excess. And who's our local rep with the Feds, and who was part of Nancys crowd that forced through the stimulous? Federal money is like free candy to localities.

Yes, the County Commissioners asked for and received approval, from the DoT, to keep the extra funds since they will be used for another road project. This was not a legislative action which would've involved Steny.

I didnt say Steny allowed them to keep the money, only that he was part of the crowd that offered it up to the states/localities in the first place. Were it not for that, then this would be happening.

I did, but only in the course of explaining why the Fed is now 80K poorer when they didn't need to be. Chump change, in the big scheme of things, but it's the point of the matter. Sugar Daddy Uncle Sam needs to not be handing out candy.

Rather than 'put them to work' wouldn't it be more American to 'let them find work?' Make them show some initiative once they start to feel the hunger and cold.
