The St. Mary’s County Department of Public Safety will host a Community Information Meeting concerning the proposed construction of a new Public Safety radio communications tower at the Valley Lee Convenience Center. The meeting will be held Monday, March 5 at 7:00 p.m. in the Valley Lee Fire House located at 45245 Drayden Road in Valley Lee, Maryland. The public is encouraged to attend.
The proposed construction includes a self-supporting, three-legged tower which will be 330 feet high and a separate equipment shelter building. Both structures are designed to be secure and physically hardened to meet Public Safety and Homeland Security standards. The project will provide improved radio communications for emergency responders (Fire, EMS, and Police) in the Valley Lee area. The enhanced communication is vital for continued emergency response and services to the community.
