Geothermal Energy Training and Seminar April 23

The Department of Planning and Growth Management is presenting a special seminar and training sessions on Monday, April 23, on geothermal energy uses in Charles County. This seminar/training is being presented by Suzanne Wiltshire of Golder Associates, Inc. This is part of a study conducted for Charles County on the feasibility of geothermal energy and to determine the best methods for commercial and residential uses.

The seminar and the training sessions will be held in the Charles County Government Building (200 Baltimore Street, La Plata). The schedule is as follows:

Seminar (Commissioners' Meeting Room):
9-10:30 a.m.: Overview of the study; results and implementation ideas will be presented

Training Sessions
(Government Building Lunch Room):
1 p.m.: Planning for Geothermal Energy
2 p.m.: Geothermal Project Implementation

This study was conducted as part of an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant given by the Department of Energy to Charles County and is of interest to builders, developers, architects, engineers, and property owners who would like to consider geothermal energy heating and cooling for individual projects and/or project-wide applications.
