Republican Party: Get Diverse or Face Extinction - ABC News

By JORDAN FABIAN (@Jordanfabian)

The Republican Party is giving itself somewhat of an ultimatum: improve at courting racially diverse and young voters or be condemned as a perennial loser at the national level.

That's a core message of a comprehensive report that the Republican National Committee (RNC) will release Monday, which proposes wholesale changes to the way the party operates in the wake of back-to-back losses in presidential elections. That includes how the party identifies and reaches out to voters, uses data and technology, raises money, conducts presidential primaries, and confronts campaign finance laws that have given rise to deep-pocketed super PACs.

The two party system is a joke.
Obama is proof that democracy doesn't work.

Lock and Load, people!

I've been around long enough to say --

I've heard this kind of stuff before. Lately, it's been after EVERY election that the Republicans lose. But I've been hearing about the eventual demise of the Republican Party since Reagan took office, and it's taken various forms. What usually happens is, registrations begin to shift on the other side, and then back, but the extinction event never happens.

The *reason* it doesn't happen is part of why there's a shift to independent registration - the Democrats aren't fixing anything either. The pendulum swings to their side - and they don't deliver. In fact, the ONE thing people can count on, is no matter what they try to do - when it fails, they'll blame Republicans.

And it's getting too frequent - and getting too old. More and more voters are turned off by them. It's like a person who keeps striking out at the plate, and blaming the wind or the noise, when in fact - maybe you just can't hit the ball. People giving up on both parties are beginning to realize - neither one of them can get the job done.

Blaming the other guys, even if valid, still has the same result.

Nothing.

We face an interesting challenge and there are lots of articles being written about what to do about it.

William Kristol is desperately trying to kill the Rand Paul baby in the crib, recognizing the existential threat, America First-ism, that he represents to the devastating failures of Kristol's devout faith, neo conservatism.

Jeb is out there arguing that what we really need is one more Bush. Just a better one.

Jindal is trying to be practical.

The left has a crush on Christie that grows every time another Republican recognizes how bad he is for the GOP; Mo' Gummint. Think of him as the new McCain, the GOP'er every lib will vote for. Unless it matters.

And McCain is regularly proving how lucky we were that Sarah wasn't quite enough.

The devout among us are convinced that gay marriage and abortion are all that stand between us and the White House. As long as it ain't no cultist which, like rape pregnancy, somehow, the Lord will protect us from.

And through it all, there is no pro cheap energy faction, no substantial numbers opposed to Too Big To Fail and a near civil war on whether to welcome illegals or shoot them.

And the Bush Legacy Resurrection Committee is no where near out of business even going so far as to remind folks of his falling out with Cheney over not pardoning Scooter.

No national level member is for the second amendment and Rush Limbaugh is still our only national spokesperson.

Good times we're having, good times.

Why should Republican's listen to anything screeching Democrat shills have to say? Ever?

When Republicans get all diverse-like and put minorities in positions of power, you left-wing jackasses and your accomplices in the mainstream media just portray the Republicans as holding up their "Token [insert group here]". You then continue to bash the appointees as "Betrayers of their [insert group here]". I still don't know how it's not racist as all hell to call Condoleeza Rice, "Aunt Jemima", but you a-holes got a free pass, and Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson didn't do a damn thing but adjust their butt-plugs and shuffle their feet at that vulgar display of racism and hypocrisy. If someone had tried that against, say, the Honorable Maxine Waters, we'd still be hearing about it.

Democrats have done nothing more than to create a damned if you do, and damned if you don't situation. Well, I say, #### that, #### you, #### the horses you rode in on, #### your mother, #### the horse she rode in on, #### your horse's mother. Why don't you mind their own goddamn business and save their so-called "advice" (hey, drink this bleach!) for people who need it and/or want it. My advice to the Republicans is ignore any "advice" from political enemies and jackasses like the original poster.

Especially when the message is basically, "Be like us and you'll be more popular with mouth breathing idiots."

Well, I say, #### that, #### you, #### the horses you rode in on, #### your mother, #### the horse she rode in on, #### your horse's mother.

Eloquent. :yay:

No, they haven't. The GOP, like white guilt folks, have done this to themselves.

You read the 'Being White in Philly' piece? It's fascinating on many levels not least of which is the view white folks who live in Philly who were born and grew up in other nations have of blacks.

They have NONE of the guilt, none of the special interest, kid glove, we 'owe' them childishness and call a spade a spade, flat out calling lazy blacks who abuse the help they are getting, lazy blacks...who are abusing the help they are getting.

There's nothing wrong with the D's saying "Hey, would you like to pretend this is a mine field that will only blow up on you?"

It's the GOP that accepts the invitation.

Now, about this equine hostility you seem to have...bad experience on a pony ride as kid, yeah? :lmao:
