RICHMOND, Va. -- Get ready for buzzing bugs with orange or red eyes that look like shrimp and smell bad after they die.

The largest brood of periodical cicadas is about to engulf parts of Virginia, Maryland and other eastern states. Scientists compare the smell of dead cicadas to Limburger cheese.
