The president believes his own bull****, but do we

‘You know, I actually believe my own bull****.”

That’s what President Obama once told a reporter. If the man ever uttered a statement that spoke more to his approach to politics, I haven’t heard it.

Whether it stems from a grandiose overconfidence in his own powers of persuasion, or the lessons he took from his years as a community organizer, or his own messianic conviction that he is on the right side of everything, including history itself, the president has always operated under the theory that he can move the American people to his causes. And he can’t. He just can’t.

Yes, he got elected and reelected, and that’s saying something. But whatever personal popularity the man has doesn’t transfer to domestic policy.

It’s as if the American people are saying, “Mr. President, we’re just not that into you.”

“What about health-care reform!?” his fans invariably respond.

Well, what about it? Sure, it passed. But the Affordable Care Act didn’t become law because Obama ignited a populist prairie fire in favor of it. He dedicated vast, vast swaths of his time and energy trying to sell the American people on Obamacare. He never made the sale (and still hasn’t). The misbegotten law’s passage is attributable entirely to the fact that Democrats rammed it through Congress — with a 60-vote majority in the Senate — using the sorts of backroom deals and corporate giveaways the American people despise.

The latest gun control vote shows us how low he set the bar and he still tripped over it.

Behind the Curtain: Obama, boxed in - POLITICO.com

Apparently its a bummer to try to "fundamentally change" America when he is being blocked by Congress.

Time for another Reichstag fire?

Gee, the kenyan moody, frustrated, unable to push through an agenda,...and red state Democrats fearing Nov 2014. As RUSH said Jan 2008. and I said before that announcement: I HOPE he fails (in everything!)

Its the only way the Republic can survive.

I'm just kind of flabbergasted - but not totally surprised - that when it failed, the reaction has been nothing short of a spiteful tantrum, followed by assertions that he will get it through ANYWAY.

It recalls that scene in "An American President" where Michael Douglas says "but I'm gonna convince Americans that I'm right, and I'm gonna get the guns." It's an ok movie overall - but this line grates on my nerves. Obama has, on occasion, mouthed words to this effect - that he must convince us he is right on an issue.

That's not his job. His job is not to tell us what we want; his job is to DO what we want. Ok, you made your case, your voice is as free as ours. We said no. We told you, no thanks. THAT should be the end of it.

But it won't be, because whether we want it or not, he's going to try and make it happen over the will of the people. That, my friends, is what we've been objecting to his entire administration.

look at Climate Change:

in the 1970s it was Acid Rain and a coming Ice Age
in the 1990's an Inconvenient Truth - Global Warming - man dont you care about the Polar Bears

now climate change, because the planet will not co-operate and be consistent

anyone who did not 'believe' the new Religion was selfish or stupid and a heretic - and 'they' demanded MORE Power to make the TOUGH choices for us

He can't implement full-blown socialism while the American people still have the power to resist.

Whether we have the will or not remains to be seen.

Which is why the GOP has been so instrumental as well as indispensable in installing socialism as our primary governing ideology; their supporters are the ones most equipped and likely to resist someone like Obama while being near completely incapable, because we are supporters, of stopping that installation by our own guys.

...of a child.

Underneath it all, Obama is a malignant narcissist and that is no inconsequential. It's OK to be in love with ones self and be a rather weak person but, when you are the most powerful person on the planet, then, well, then it becomes a problem.

Obama thinks not getting his way is some sort of misunderstanding; not that you could actually disagree with him.

That's not the sort of person you'd want being a swipe of a pen away from shoving a hellfire up your ass.
