Never ceases to amaze me the scams some of these criminals pull. Received 2 automated calls today on my private line from 2 different out-of-state numbers.

Anyway, according to the call, the IRS is suing me and I need to call 202-470-0872 right away.

First call was from 716-886-9358 and the second from 618-465-8138

If you Google any of the numbers you can find out more about the types of calls originating from these numbers:

What really amazes me is that scams have been originating from the 202 number since at least 30 MARCH and no one has done a bloody thing to have the number disconnected and the perp handcuffed (assuming they are in the USA)

Listen to the message here:

The first thing you hear is my phone system making a public announcement that the call is being recorded in order to comply with wiretapping laws. The rest is the scammer's recording.

"Note that the IRS will never: 1) call to demand immediate payment, nor will the agency call about taxes owed without first having mailed you a bill; 2) demand that you pay taxes without giving you the opportunity to question or appeal the amount they say you owe; 3) require you to use a specific payment method for your taxes, such as a prepaid debit card; 4) ask for credit or debit card numbers over the phone; or 5) threaten to bring in local police or other law-enforcement groups to have you arrested for not paying."
