I rode bikes for years and I never learned any of this. What a crock O'$hit.

“Bikes may look simple, but these are complicated machines and when you learn about the bike you’re learning about mechanics, you’re learning about design, you’re learning about 3D printing, you’re learning about physics. It is a great window into learning about wads of skills that can be put to really good use in our community STEM skills and other skills,” Van Hollen said.

They'll be lucky if they learn how to fill them with gas and check the oil. Just another waste of taxpayer funds.

Brilliant move. The roving gangs of ferals on dirt bikes will disappear the day they open this new park.

I laughed at that too. What I see is that this "non-profit" which really means a group of folks who get nice salaries while sounding like they can change a damn thing has found a way to spin whatever the new problem is into a solution. Maybe when I find time, I'll go back and see hwo they spun the squegee "kids" into a reason for grant money.

I have to assume that this is an attempt to stop a bunch of lawbreaking adults who ride stolen Dirt bikes and ATV's from storming the streets, of Baltimore. It wont work for several reason. One being many of the bikes they ride are stolen, another because they enjoy taking the streets and playing with the cops who can do nothing to stop them. Another being that these are not children , but adults.

Just sneakin' around....
Those roving gangs are anti-control, anti-law, anti- pretty much everything. There's no way they are going to go to a park where things are "controlled" and under someone's watchful eye and play nice with other bikers.

Only way the use it is have a no questions asked policy. They know the bikes are stolen. Next question to ask is will they be allowed to ride the bikes to the park .?

They are already breaking the law riding them on the streets.
