I spent 40 minutes at Loveville on Friday. That's not too bad of a wait and they were busier than Hell with tag renewals.
You can submit something from your eye doctor unless you're told you have to go in the MVA for the exam.
Figured I'd chime in.....
Not last year; but the time before that; however many years ago; I went to the DMV and used their antiquated equipment to take the eye test. The "administrator" puts a slide into the device and says, 'Read line 4.' I said, '
There is no line 4.' 'Yes, there is.' 'Um,
no,
there isn't.' The aforementioned takes the slide out; looks at it and says, 'Huh.....
Okay, you pass.'
Last year, I went to the Wally*World vision center and was given a proper eye exam. Dr. says, 'You don't need glasses
to drive.' 'You need glasses
to read;' something I already knew and have non-prescription glasses for.
So IMO, if your D/L renewal is drawing near, make an appointment with an Optometrist to get your eyes checked. It's an additional fee you have to pay, but at least you won't have someone who is not a medical professional telling you you need glasses to drive; when you might not.
As far as renewing a license online.....I'd rather deal with the DMV. Something about online renewal just leaves more room for error on
someone's part.
