Power with Control
Just to keep this topic up there, even though the Sheriff seems to have backed off on his desire to install a red light camera system. In this section of forum because it is a scam, really.

Cliff notes. Company installs RLC system. State of FL, amazingly enough, adds minimum yellow light requirement to state law. This proven tactic reduces red light running to the point where the system is no longer profitable. Then the politicians decide they might not need the system, now that it's not making money anymore (but it wasn't about money, was it?). Of course, the company fight back with "Wont anyone think of the safety?" to which the local Sheriff reports, "Eh, no, not one drop of increased safety, in fact, accidents rose at camera intersections"

Final effort by the company, "Here, we'll just not charge you the 48K a month we are supposed to for 60 days, that'll buy us time to make the system profitable again". Not safer, because of course, that doesn't really matter. Want to bet the offer is to suddenly start tagging right on red violations?
