Donald Trump's Many Business Failures, Explained (Long Article)

Ubi bene ibi patria
"Donald Trump was thundering about a minority group, linking its members to murderers and what he predicted would be an epic crime wave in America. His opponents raged in response—some slamming him as a racist—but Trump dismissed them as blind, ignorant of the real world.

No, this is not a scene from a recent rally in which the Republican nominee for president stoked fears of violence from immigrants or Muslims. The year was 1993, and his target was Native Americans, particularly those running casinos who, Trump was telling a congressional hearing, were sucking up to criminals.

Trump, who at the time was a major casino operator, appeared before a panel on Indian gaming with a prepared statement that was level-headed and raised regulatory concerns in a mature way. But, in his opening words, Trump announced that his written speech was boring, so he went off-script, even questioning the heritage of some Native American casino operators, saying they “don't look like Indians” and launching into a tirade about “rampant” criminal activities on reservations."

One of the wise old guys that I use to work with told me "if you don't break something it means that you aren't doing any work" and I think this holds true with most things.

I predict a lot of this type of reporting on Trump in the next couple of months.

The Democrats are in panic mode , they fear a Trump win.

They will do anything they can to smear him while ignoring the Hillary faults.
Honestly don't we all know what is happening?
This is without doubt the worst Presidential run in the history of America

I don't know what anyone else believes , but I am voting for the Supreme court.
I am taking a chance on Trump as opposed to the sure thing Hillary will do to destroy the court.

Now argue that till hell freezes over, but no one alive can dispute the ideology of the Judges Hillary will appoint/.

I think the GOP is more scared of Trump than the Dems, what will they do if he actually pulls it out? For the Dems he is simply the enemy, no real drama there.

Yes, the Dems can smell blood, and they are coming for yours. Why do you think you will be spared? Because you are clueless, lobotomized, and apparently have overdosed on Kool-Aid. Trump will not self destruct. He is in it to win it. And, the fear you smell in your so called 'core group' is warranted. The fear is based on not wanting another lying, deceitful, power hungry Clinton in the WH. Welcome back!

That is because Trump is upsetting the GOP Establishment. Poor entitled, rich babies. He will pull it out. I don't like Trump's personality, but I love the fact that he is rocking the Establishment. Go, Trump!

Trump is without the worst speaker of anyone I have ever heard running for President.
Hillary is the most corrupt person to ever run, she will do anything and say anything to win.

I am voting for the Supreme Court and a country that needs checks and balances, something we lost with Obama and will lose even more with Hillary.

I think you're right.

Watch it come out that Ryan was knee-deep in the Iran payoff. That's why they don't want Trump to be president: they don't have him under control and he could very well, you know, uphold the laws in this country and make corrupt heads roll. That money was funding terrorism and we all know it.

$1.7 BILLION of our tax dollars.

Gonna be raising taxes to pay for that, Hillary?

Unless they are extraordinarily lucky and hit a homerun their first time out like Zuckerberg/Musk, most successful entrepreneurs will have many failed ventures.

I wouldn't fault Trump for having some failures in his past, the fact that he has moved past them is noteworthy. Maybe people taking issue with his failures are mistaken about what makes an "amazing businessman", believing it takes perfect negotiation skills, perfect timing, and a Miss Cleo like market prescience. In reality it is probably more about perseverance and grit. I believe Trump does inflates his net worth because it's likely necessary given he makes money off of his image, and his image is indelibly tied to his success/wealth, but that is probably one of those smart business moves he isn't given credit for.

That said, I don't believe he has the right temperament to be president, and I think his lack of diplomacy has the potential to get us into some sticky situations. Imagine an Iraq war without a coalition of the willing to defray the costs/American lives spent. Even if we were 100% right in our actions, we probably couldn't afford to go it alone.
