The Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack will be hosting a sobriety checkpoint Friday night, August 26, 2016, in St. Mary's County. This event will focus on both drug and/or alcohol impaired drivers in the hope of reducing the impact of impaired drivers and impaired related crashes. Drivers are reminded there are many alternatives to driving buzzed or under the influence. Call a friend, relative, cab, or Uber. Please don't drink and drive.

They were "hosting"? Makes sound like a party. Did they send out invitations?

Interesting terminology. One would think that they were "conducting" a sobriety checkpoint.
