Incompetence

The incompetence of our Mr. Trump is clearly starting to show and it seems to be deeply rooted in his massive ego and lack of actual business skills.

The immigration ban is focusing a laser light on the incompetence of Mr. Trump. He apparently consulted no one when constructing this order...not his newly appointed cabinet members whose agencies would have the experience to help draft and the responsibility to enforce the order...and not the Congressional committee leadership who would also have the experience to assist in properly drafting the EO.

A leader, a real leader, understands what his/her limitations are. Mr. Trump has not one clue. Worse he doesn't seem to care. He just spouts off constantly that everything he does is perfect and everything he touches turns to gold. And you morons believe every word of it.

A corporate or political leader, a real leader, surrounds himself with experts in their fields and relies on their opinions, dissents and commentary when making decisions. Trump ignores or doesn't ask for assistance. He just consults his Ouija board or Magic 8 ball.

As a leader, Mr. Trump is proving himself on a daily basis to be incompetent. Here is how he should have handled his ban...he should have waited till Jeff Sessions was confirmed, he should have consulted all those people around him for help drafting the document, he should have consulted other world leaders, and he should have rolled in out on a Monday or Tuesday morning instead of a Friday. All of these are simple, basic, damn near elementary level concepts that a true leader would have followed. Mr. Trump isn't showing leadership skills...he is showing his incompetence and he is proving right all the Never Trumpers and the majority of Americans who voted against him.

At least three top national security officials — Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly and Rex Tillerson, who is awaiting confirmation to lead the State Department — have told associates they were not aware of details of the directive until around the time Trump signed it. Leading intelligence officials were also left largely in the dark, according to U.S. officials.

Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker, the top Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said that despite White House assurances that congressional leaders were consulted, he learned about the order from the media.

Trump said the order had been "approved" by Justice Department lawyers. However, the department has said the Office of Legal Counsel review was limited to whether the order was properly drafted, but did not address broader policy questions...

The blowback underscored Trump's tenuous relationship with his own national security advisers, many of whom he met for the first time during the transition.

Mattis, who stood next to Trump during Friday's signing ceremony, is said to be particularly incensed. A senior U.S. official said Mattis, along with Joint Chiefs Chairman Joseph Dunford, was aware of the general concept of Trump's order but not the details. Tillerson has told the president's political advisers that he was baffled over not being consulted on the substance of the order.

At least we don't have the exceptional incompetence of an Obama or Clinton. This level of incompetence is workable. They were (or would have been) not workable.

No need to go any further than this. You T0J0, have shown your complete ignorance, by thinking someone who has nearly $4 billion to his name, on a global scale, due to his business acumen is a failure, clearly shows you are strictly operating on your hatred for Trump. You continue on with your march towards looking like a complete fool though. I have no desire to stop you.

Geez Louise - it's been ONE WEEK. What IS it with you guys?

I give him tons of credit for pursuing his objectives. Yeah, he's going to break a few eggs and make some enemies. There will be surges forward and a few steps back as the new administration adjusts to reality. But like you said, it's been one week. Let's give the guy the benefit of the doubt right now.

Umm - did Congress turn into Parliament in the last few months?

As much as the left understands how our Republic works, it wouldn't surprise me.

Actually someone on this board a while back said that purple text has also been used to indicate sarcasm. I kinda like that instead of the sarcasm emoji.

They've been watching Star Wars and think movies are the way things really work.

I've been reading and apparently - it's been done before, but it's just symbolic.

A government with a prime minister typically has a situation where the largest party or coalition of parties chooses their leader. The people actually don't vote for the prime minister.
Since it's predicated on that - they can "unchoose" any time they want. A No Confidence vote.

We don't have that. The executive is voted into office - he's either voted out - or removed via impeachment, and impeachment - while a political maneuver - has to be according to an actual high crime or misdemeanor.
You don't get to remove a President just because you don't like him, even though an impeachment vote MIGHT just fall along party lines and have nothing to do with guilt or innocence.

There are two - actually three - ways Trump leaves office. If he is voted out in four years. Or if he is impeached BUT it has to pass Congress AND it has to be "high crimes and misdemeanors".
Or he can be killed in which case - they just get Pence instead, which isn't what the left wants either.

Your assumption that President Trump would be good at governance because he has been successful at real estate is equal to assuming President Obama's success in being elected to the highest office twice means he is qualified to sell me a time share in Pascagoula, Ms.
