Another interesting poll

WASHINGTON (AP) — Two months into Donald Trump's presidency, Americans mostly disapprove of his overall performance. But they're more upbeat about at least one critical area: his handling of the economy.

Nearly 6 in 10 Americans disapprove of Trump's overall performance, and about the same percentage say the country is headed in the wrong direction, according to a new poll by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research. It was conducted amid the collapse of the GOP's health care overhaul.

However, the poll also found a brighter spot for the businessman-politician on the economy, often a major driver of presidential success or failure. There, Americans split about evenly, with 50 percent approving and 48 percent disapproving of Trump's efforts.

Pretty much confirms every other poll out there. Mr. Trump's disapproval/approval numbers are abysmal. That's not the interesting part.

The interesting part is the even split on the economy. Why interesting? Mr. Trump has done nothing regarding the economy. The economy was growing when he entered, its growing now and Mr. Trump has not done one thing (yet) that will have an impact on the future trajectory of the economy.

So, the poll really boils down to this: on the things Mr. Trump has done, he has garnered resounding disapproval. On the thing he hasn't done, he can only muster a 50/50 split...despite the positive economy he inherited.

TJ got rooked by the polls when Trump was elected, but she still believes in them.

Insanity. Reading the same polls and expecting a different result.
