Meaning that I am going to have a marathon posting crime/arrest reports, not that there is a marathon of crime in Calvert, although, I guess, someone (not me) could argue that.

Burglary Case #16-65360: On November 16, 2016, Deputy P. Wood was dispatched to Lakeside Drive, in Dunkirk, for the report of a burglary. The victim stated that sometime over the last three weeks an unknown individual(s) went into his shed and stole his Echo weed eater, Echo backpack blower and his Echo chainsaw.

CDS Violation Case #16-65848: On November 18, 2016, at approximately 8:30pm, Deputy J. Denton conducted a traffic stop, at Cove Point Rd/H.G. Trueman Rd, in Lusby, on a vehicle traveling without a headlight. Upon making contact with the driver, Shawn Legrant, 24, of Lexington Park, MD, he detected a strong odor of raw marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed a concealed black sheath/sword throwing knife, a brown wooden baseball bat (wrapped in black electrical tape) and a brown handled hatchet. All weapons were located within arm's reach of the driver. A further search of the vehicle revealed a green Crown Royal bag containing four (4) separate bags - one with 33.5 grams of marijuana, one with 6.2 grams of marijuana, one with 4.2 grams of marijuana and one with 2.8 grams of marijuana - for a grand total of 46.7 grams. Also found was a digital scale, BIC lighter and a red dice. Mr. Legrant was charged with CDS: Possession of Marijuana 10 grams+, three (3) counts of carrying a Concealed Dangerous Weapon and issued a warning for the inoperative head light.

CDS Violation Case #16-65343: On November 16, 2016, at approximately 11:30am, Deputy R. Kreps observed Kelly Branson, 27, of North Beach, near the entrance to the MVA, in Prince Frederick, and was aware she had an active warrant. Upon placing Ms. Branson under arrest for the warrant, a search of her person yielded a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) in her wallet. The CDS was not in a prescription container to verify Ms. Branson had a prescription for the drug. She was transported to the Detention Center and charged with CDS: Possession of a Synthetic narcotic (Suboxone).

CDS Violation Case #16-64973: On November 14, 2016, at approximately 10:30pm, Deputy C. Childress conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle he observed crossing the center line several times and not maintaining a constant speed. When he approached the driver, Dante Jones, 28, of Dunkirk, he was not able to provide a driver's license and had difficulty finding the registration to the vehicle. Jones was found to have an active Child Support: Non-Compliance warrant through Calvert County and was transported to the Detention Center. While being processed at the Detention Center, a Suboxone (Subutex) strip was located in Jones' wallet, with no verification off a prescription. Charges were placed on him for CDS: Possession of a Synthetic Narcotic (Suboxone).

CDS VIOLATION CASE #16-65122: On November 15, 2016, at approximately 1:00pm, Deputy M. Trigg conducted a traffic stop, near Oakland Hall Road, in Prince Frederick, on a vehicle travelling with an expired registration. While making contact with one of the occupants, David Gray, 33, of Lusby, he located a cellophane wrapper containing a light blue powder, identified as Alprazolam. He was arrested and charged with CDS: Possession of a Dangerous Nonnarcotic drug (Alprazolam) and for Possession of Paraphernalia (wrapper).

DAMAGED PROPERTY CASE #16-65084: On November 15, 2016, at approximately 11:00am, Deputy T. Rzepkowski responded to Yellow Bank Road, in Dunkirk, for the report of damaged property. Upon arrival the complainant advised he observed a broken glass panel on a rear door, which seemed to be broken by a large rock which was found lying on the floor inside the home.

THEFT CASE #16-66222: On November 20, 2016, Deputy A. Locke was dispatched to the Dunkirk Walmart for the report of a shoplifting in progress. He made contact with the Asset Protection Officer, Troy Washington, who observed a male and female placing items in the female's purse. John Shepherd, 53, and Kelly Scott, 52, both of Lothian, concealed a box of Kiss fingernails, bottle of woman's body spray, an energizer flashlight and a package of 30 Extenze male enhancement pills in the purse. They were both charged with Theft less than $100.00 and released, after being told they were no longer welcome at the Dunkirk Wal-Mart for a period of 1 year.

THEFT CASE #16-65628: On November 17, 2016, at approximately 9:00pm, Deputy C. Childress responded to the Prince Frederick Walmart for the report of a shoplifting. The suspect, Valerie Marie Nielson, 29, of Prince Frederick, was observed placing several items into a bag in an attempt to conceal them. The items include: 4 children watches, 2 pairs of girls leggings, 2 pairs of slippers and a box of Hefty trash bags. Deputy Childress discovered Nielson had an active warrant through the District Court for a Failure to Appear charge. She was arrested for Theft Less Than $100.00 and transported to the Detention Center for processing.

THEFT CASE #16-64913: On November 14, 2016, Deputy T. Buckler responded to Tans Cycles, on Chesapeake Avenue, in North Beach, for a reported theft. Upon arrival the complainant advised that their orange 17.5ft Eddy Line kayak was stolen from behind the business. The kayak was last seen about a month prior (early October).

THEFT CASE #16-64877: On November 14, 2016, Deputy R. Shrawder responded to Eucalyptus Drive, in St. Leonard, for the report of a theft. The victim advised multiple items were taken from their backyard sometime within the last week. Items stolen include: 5 Pedestals, 3 Statues, 5 metal fence poles.

CDS Violation Case #16-67139: On November 25, 2016, at approximately 10:20pm, Deputy T. Mohler initiated a traffic stop, on a vehicle that was speeding, at the intersection of Southern MD Boulevard/Lyons Creek Road, in Dunkirk. While making contact with the driver, Zachary Cecil, 27, of Port Republic, he detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. He located a glass Mason style jar containing 19.5 grams of marijuana. He was transported to the Detention Center and charged with CDS: Possession of Marijuana 10+grams.

CDS Violation Case #16-66798: On November 23, 2016, at approximately 11:30pm, Deputy J. Denton conducted a traffic stop, at Hallowing Point Road/Sixes Road, in Prince Frederick, on a vehicle he observed stopped in the middle of the roadway. He observed a male occupant, Frederick Day, 50, from Indian Head, MD, throw an object onto the side of the road as he got out of the vehicle. While making contact with Day, he admitted to throwing the bottle, which contained a plastic bag of crack cocaine. He was arrested and charged with CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana (Cocaine) and for Possession of Paraphernalia (bottle).

CDS Violation Case #16-66778: On November 23, 2016, at approximately 10:30pm, Deputy C. Callison conducted a (sobriety check point) traffic stop and could smell a strong odor of raw marijuana emitting from the vehicle driven by Michael Willis, Jr. 30, of Pittsburgh, PA. He discovered a glass Mason jar containing 15.7 grams of marijuana and a marijuana grinder with an additional 7.7 grams of marijuana, for a total of 23.4 grams. From a further investigation of Willis' vehicle, he located a blue circular container containing a Tetrahydrocannabinol Compound in a waxy form. He was transported to the Detention Center and charged with CDS: Possession of marijuana 10+ grams and CDS: Possession of a Dangerous Nonnarcotic (Tetrahydrocannabinol).

CDS Violation Case #16-66759: On November 23, 2016, at approximately 9:00pm, Deputy N. Buckler conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle he observed traveling southbound on MD Rt. 4, in the area of Fox Run Boulevard, with a headlight out. When he approached the driver, Scott Grimes, 29, of Owings, he immediately detected the odor of raw marijuana. The amount discovered was within the legal limit (less than 10 grams); a cut green plastic straw with white residue was also found. He was arrested for Possession of a Dangerous Nonnarcotic drug (Xanax) and Possession of Paraphernalia (straw).

CDS Violation Case #16-66713: On November 23, 2016, at approximately 3:45pm, Deputy D. Clark was on the scene of a vehicle accident, near the intersection of Solomons Island Road/German Chapel Road, in Prince Frederick. He observed a white male run through the accident scene, briefly enter a vehicle on the other side of the road and return. While questioning the male, Jay Philipson, 51, of Prince Frederick, as to whether he witnessed the accident, he admitted to having two (2) Oxycontin pills on his person, with no proof of a prescription. He was placed under arrest for Possession of a Synthetic Narcotic (Oxycontin).

CDS Violation Case #16-66686: On November 23, 2016, at 1:00pm, Deputy T. Rzepkowski responded to the Detention Center to investigate a controlled dangerous substance violation. When he arrived he was informed that a glass smoking pipe was found on inmate, William Jacks, 32, of Chesapeake Beach, while he was being processed at the jail for an outstanding warrant. He was charged with Possession of Paraphernalia (glass pipe).

CDS VIOLATION CASE #16-66596: On November 22, 2016, at approximately 10:40pm, Deputy J. Livingston was dispatched to the area of Summer City Boulevard/Bayside Road, in Chesapeake Beach, for the report of a possible drunk driver. He made contact with the driver, Zachary Sullivan, 24, of Huntingtown, who pulled over on 13th street in a vehicle matching the lookout vehicle. He discovered Mr. Sullivan was driving with a suspended license and gave Deputy Livingston consent to search his vehicle. He observed fifteen (15) white pills (Methadone), a napkin containing a small white rock (Heroin) and three (3) medication strips (Suboxone) with no proof of prescription. He was arrested and taken to the jail where he was charged accordingly.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT CASE #16-66835: On November 24, 2016, at approximately 1:00am, Deputy R. Evans responded to the report of a disorderly subject near the Green Turtle in Prince Frederick. Upon arrival he observed Cody Politt, 24, of Prince Frederick, screaming and cursing citizens and would not cooperate when told to stop and leave the area. He was arrested and transported to the Detention Center where he was charged with Disorderly Conduct.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT CASE #16-66829: On November 24, 2016, at approximately 1:00am, Deputy M. Naecker was dispatched for a fight in progress outside of the Green Turtle in Prince Frederick. Upon arrival he was notified a white male, William Grantham, 29, of Prince Frederick, was yelling curse words and would not leave the area when instructed to do so. Grantham was taken into custody and charged with Disorderly Conduct.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT CASE #16-66828: On November 24, 2016, Deputy N. Buckler was dispatched to the Green Turtle, in Prince Frederick, to assist other officers with multiple disorderly subjects. Deputy Pounsberry advised that Nicholas Dyer, 24, of Lusby, was cursing in front of multiple citizens and was involved in a physical altercation with another male in the parking lot. He was transported to the Detention Center. While being processed a clear plastic container with a white powder (Cocaine) was discovered in his left front pants pocket. Mr. Dyer was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Possession/Receive CDS While Confined (Cocaine).

THEFT CASE #16-67204: On November 26, 2016, Deputy C. Johnson was dispatched to Dunkirk for the report of a theft. The victim advised they had parked their vehicle around 9:00pm in the Park and Ride parking lot in Dunkirk. When they returned to their vehicle around 10:00am the next day, they noticed the rear registration plate was missing. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

THEFT CASES #16-67060 AND #16-67055: On November 25, 2016, Deputy C. Johnson responded to Mariner Circle, in Dunkirk, for the report of a theft. The complainant reported two (2) of their unlocked vehicles had been rummaged through; a medical stethoscope and an Anne Arundel County Medical Center ID Badge/Access card were both stolen. The crime took place between 9:00pm on November 24 - 3:00pm on November 25th. Another victim, also living on Mariner Court, advised they also had money stolen from their vehicle. All vehicles were left unlocked and parked in front of the residence.

THEFT CASES #16-67053 AND #16-67049: On November 25, 2016, at approximately 3:20pm, Deputy V. O'Donnell responded to Gun Smoke Court, in Lusby, for the report of a theft. The complainant explained they had inadvertently left their car doors unlocked overnight; when they entered their car the afternoon of the 25th, they discovered items thrown all over the care and money was stolen. Another neighbor, also living nearby on Gun Smoke Court, stated their car had also been rummaged through and money was missing.

THEFT CASE #16-67013: On November 25, 2016, at approximately 10:45am, Deputy C. Johnson responded to Lakeside Court, in Dunkirk, for the report of a theft. The victim advised multiple items were stolen from their unlocked vehicle sometime between 12:00 noon on November 24 and 10:15am on November 25th. Items missing include: a medium-sized red leather purse, money, keys, insurance card and a MD registration card.

THEFT CASE #16-66716: On November 23, 2016, Deputy R. Shrawder was dispatched to Gregg Drive, in Lusby, for the report of a stolen bicycle. The missing bicycle is grey, has two (2) foot pegs near the back tires and has several unique stickers on the handle bars and near the back tire.

THEFT CASE #16-66620: On November 22, 2016, Deputy B. Boerum and other units were called to Planters Wharf Road, in Lusby, for the report of two (2) male subjects breaking into vehicles. Upon arrival to the area, Deputies spread out in an attempt to locate the suspects. While Deputy Naughton approached two (2) vehicles he observed parked on Stern Street with their interior lights on, he noticed a black male going through the center console area. When the male, later identified as Keith Mackall, 24, of Lusby, observed Deputy Naughton approaching, he ignored commands to stop and exited the vehicle and started to run away. A short foot chase ensued before Mackall was taken into custody. He was found to be in possession of a backpack with several wallets, ID Cards, lottery tickets, electronics, money and social security cards. Deputy Boerum secured Mackall in his Patrol vehicle. As the other Sheriff units returned to Stern Street, they observed a second black male, Nicholas Kelson, 22, also of Lusby, hiding in a second vehicle. Kelson was found to be in possession of a plastic baggie containing loose change. Mackall was charged with Rogue and Vagabond, Resist/Interfere with Arrest, Theft - Scheme Less $1,000.00, Theft Less Than $100.00, Malicious Destruction of Property/Less $1,000.00 and CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia. Kelson was charged with Theft Less than $100.00, Rogue and Vagabond and Malicious Destruction of Property/Less $1,000.00.

THEFT CASE #16-66510: On November 22, 2016, Deputy R. Spalding was dispatched to Bayside Toyota, located in Prince Frederick, for the report of a theft. The Manager advised two (2) dealer license plates were missing from the dealership - one had been missing around 30 days, the other for 3 days. Their employees have access to the tags for customer test drives; therefore, because the tags would normally have been returned by now, he is convinced they have been stolen.

THEFT CASE #16-66476: On November 22, 2016, Deputy V. O'Donnell responded to Platte Road, in Lusby, for the report of a theft. The victim stated a 110-lb propane tank (full of gas) was stolen from the side of his house. The last time he remembered seeing the propane tank was on November 15th. The tank is approximately five feet tall and has a Taylor Gas sticker along the side.

THEFT CASE #16-66270: On November 21, 2016, at approximately 5:15am, Deputy W. Durner responded to Sycamore Road, in Lusby, for the report of a theft from vehicle. The victim advised that he discovered someone had been in his car overnight when he found a passenger door and center console left open and the following items missing: 2 wallets, social security card, debit card and a military base ID card.

BURGLARY CASE #16-67863: On November 29, 2016, Deputy D. Clark responded to Horseshoe Trail, in Lusby, for the report of a burglary. The victim reports that sometime between 2:00pm - 9:00pm that day someone had entered their home and stole an Xbox 1, Controller, NBA 2K17 video game and three (3) Tablets. It appears the suspect(s) may have entered through a bedroom window.

BURGLARY CASE #16-67808: On November 29, 2016, Deputy A. Ostazeski was dispatched to Williams Wharf Road, in St. Leonard, for the report of a burglary. The victims stated they were away from their home November 22 - November 27th and advised the residence was locked when they left. Upon returning, they had not realized their Sentry Safe was missing until that day. The safe contained personal documents and two (2) pistols: one an Arms Corp America .38 Caliber revolver and the other a Rock Island Armory 45 caliber semi-auto pistol.

CDS VIOLATION CASE #16-68558: On December 3, 2016, Deputy G. Gott conducted a traffic stop, in the area of the Sears store, in Prince Frederick, on a vehicle pulling a trailer that did not have operating brake lights. Upon questioning the occupants and receiving a positive alert for contraband from a K9 dog, one of the passengers, Michael Coyle, 29, of St. Leonard, was found to have a hypodermic syringe hidden in a can of tea he had been drinking. Michael was then placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Paraphernalia (syringe) and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY CASE #16-68559: On December 3, 2016, Deputy S. Rediker was called to Stock Drive, in Lusby, for the report of damaged property. The victim advised while cleaning the siding of their home, they observed approximately thirteen (13) holes in the siding caused by what appeared to be a BB gun. No suspects at this time.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY CASES: #16-67339, 16-67342, 16-67348, 16-67345, 16-67349, 16-67350, 16-67351, 16-67352, 16-67354, 16-67355, 16-67359 16-67360, 16-67361, 16-67366, 16-67398, 16-67503: During the overnight hours on November 27, 2016, there was a rash of spray-paint damage to multiple vehicles, stop signs, mail boxes, sidewalks and pavement in the Town of Chesapeake Beach. After speaking with the victims and evaluating each case, a (juvenile) suspect was developed, who was later charged with each damaged property case. Charges for Destruction of Property are pending on a second (juvenile) suspect at this time.

THEFT CASE #16-68626: On December 3, 2016, Deputy G. Gott was dispatched to Roy Roger's on HG Trueman Road, in Solomons, for the report of a theft. Upon arrival the Manager explained that one of their employee's stole another co-worker's wallet and then left the restaurant. Deputy Gott was able to locate the employee, Juliette Leaman, 37, of Lusby, walking along Hickok Trail and questioned her about the theft. Leaman initially denied stealing the wallet and stated Deputy Gott could search her purse. He discovered a plastic bag containing a white pill of suspected alprazolam in her purse but she could not provide documentation for the drug. At this time, she admitted to stealing the wallet because she was upset with her co-workers. After explaining where she tossed the wallet, Deputy Gott, with the assistance of Deputy A. Ostazeski, were able to locate the wallet and all its' contents on the side of the road. Leaman was charged with Theft Less Than $100.00 and CDS: Possession of a Dangerous Nonnarcotic (Alprazolam).

THEFT CASE #16-68367: On December 2, 2016, Deputy E. Basham was dispatched to White Sands Drive, in Lusby, for the report of a theft. The victim explained they had removed the registration plates from a vehicle they planned to donate, left them on their front porch, November 20th, and someone stole them. No suspects at this time.

THEFT CASE #16-68334: On December 2, 2016, Deputy R. Evans received a call to respond to Costley Way, in Prince Frederick, for the report of a license plate missing from a vehicle. The victim advised they parked their car in the shopping center parking lot and upon returning around 1:00pm, their license plates was gone. There were no signs of rust or damage; it appeared someone unscrewed the bolts.

THEFT CASE #16-68051: On November 30, 2016, Deputy P. Wood responded to Mohawk Drive, in Lusby, for the report of a theft of license plates. The complainant stated while they were out of town, November 21 - 27, someone stole the front and rear plates from two (2) vehicles they kept in their fenced-in back yard. No suspects at this time.

THEFT CASE #16-67900: On November 29, 2016, Deputy R. Shrawder was called to Calvert Beach Road, in St. Leonard for the report of bike thefts. The victim advised that they had two (2) bikes parked in their front yard that were stolen. One bike is neon green; the other bike blue and white. Both bikes had pegs on the front and back tires.

WEAPON VIOLATION CASE #16-68484: On December 3, 2016, while Deputy R. Shrawder was travelling on St. Leonard Road, he noticed a vehicle operating with no functioning tag lights. He conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at St. Leonard Road/Mattapany Road, in St. Leonard. When he approached the driver, Darien Chase, 19, of St. Leonard, he noticed a strong odor of marijuana emitting from inside of the car. When asked if he had anything illegal in the car, Chase stated he did not have marijuana but admitted to being in possession of brass knuckles. He was charged with Concealed Dangerous Weapon (brass knuckles) and taken to the Detention Center.

BURGLARY CASE # 16-71008: On December 16, 2016, Deputy A. Ostazeski was dispatched to HG Trueman Road, in Lusby, for the report of a burglary. The victim stated the front door of their home had been forced open, the home was ransacked and several items were stolen. Confirmed missing items are: assorted pieces of jewelry, musical instruments and 50 feet of copper pipe ripped out of the home. This crime took place sometime between the end of November - December 16.

CDS VIOLATION CASE #16-70709: On December 14, 2016, Deputy T. Mohler responded to the Boardwalk in Chesapeake Beach for a check welfare call. A concerned citizen had requested a Deputy check on a possible homeless male they had seen sitting on a bench. After approaching the male, who initially gave a false name, he observed an unopened can of an alcoholic beverage sitting next to him, along with a backpack. The male gave him permission to search his backpack, which contained multiple orange pills in a clear cellophane baggie, along with a small metal pipe/straw containing a white powdery substance. The male was later determined to be David Snider, 25, of Owings. He was transported to the Detention Center where he was served arrest documents for CDS: Possession of a Dangerous Nonnarcotic Drug (Methamphetamine), Possession of Paraphernalia (straw) and Fraud/Presume Identity to avoid Prosecution. He was also found to be a fugitive from justice in the State of Pennsylvania and served (DC/CR30) paperwork for the outstanding felony warrant.

CDS VIOLATION CASE #16-70694: On December 14, 2016, Deputy M. Lewis, along with Deputy G. Ward, observed Nicholas Kelson, 22, of Lusby, walking at the intersection of White Sands Drive/Stock Drive and were aware he had an active warrant in St. Mary's County. Contact was made with Kelson who admitted he had crack cocaine in his coat pocket. A red container was found inside a pocket with six (6) white rocks, individually wrapped in clear plastic. He was arrested for CDS: Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Paraphernalia (baggie). He was transported to the Detention Center where he was served his charging documents.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY CASE #16-70253: On December 12, 2016, at approximately 5:00pm, Deputy V. Evans responded to the Calvert High School located in Prince Frederick for the report of damaged property. Upon arrival he was informed that storage containers, baseball equipment and an area on the ground near the football stadium were vandalized with orange spray paint. The vandalism included: "503", "Jew", "503", "NHS" and a swastika symbol. The time/date the damage took place is not known.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY CASE #16-71055: On December 16, 2016, Deputy D. Clark responded to the Calvert County Library, located in Prince Frederick, for the report of damaged property. Upon arrival he made contact with an employee of the Library who advised someone had written "K K K" with an ink pen in one of the men's bathroom stalls. Since the restrooms are checked for damage before closing every day, the employees believe the damage occurred between 12:00 noon - 5:00pm that day. At this time there is no suspect information.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT CASE #16-70535: On December 13, 2016, at approximately 9:30pm, Deputy T. Rzepkowski responded to the Calvert Hospital Emergency Room to investigate a disorderly subject. The caller reported a black male was heard yelling at women as they entered the emergency room. As Deputy Rzepkowski approached, William Gray, 57, of Owings, he detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his person. After being asked several times to discontinue his disorderly behavior, he was escorted out of the hospital and advised to leave the property. Gray began to walk in the middle of Hospital Road, causing vehicles to stop to avoid striking him. He was taken into custody and arrested for Disorderly Conduct. During the transport William Gray also spat on the computer mounted in the Deputy's patrol vehicle.

THEFT CASE #16-70261: On December 12, 2016, Deputy J. Hardesty was dispatched to the Prince Frederick Dodge dealership for the report of a theft. Upon arrival he spoke with the victim who explained that he left his personal vehicle parked on the dealership lot between December 9 - December 12, while he test drove a vehicle belonging to the Dealership. When he came to pick up his vehicle on December 12th, he discovered the tailgate to his vehicle was missing.

THEFT CASE #16-70238: On December 12, 2016, Deputy C. Childress was dispatched to the Prince Frederick Ford dealership for the report of a theft. He was informed that a vehicle brought to the Dealership on December 9th, to be serviced, had been left parked on their lot for several days after the work was completed. The vehicle was picked up on December 12th at 12:15pm. Shortly after the victim left the lot, they had called to report the tailgate was missing off their vehicle.

THEFT CASE #16-71212: On December 17, 2016, at approximately 8:00pm, Deputy J. Ward responded to the report of a theft occurring at Finch Drive, in Prince Frederick. Upon arrival he contacted the victim who stated that someone had taken a UPS package, he already confirmed had been delivered to their residence. The victim stated they received a confirmation that the package was delivered to the front porch earlier in that day. He contacted the postal carrier who had witnessed a white vehicle sitting in their driveway when the package was delivered. The stolen items include: a purple horse blanket (size 81) and a 14' cotton training lead with brass strap.

THEFT CASE #16-71061: On December 16, 2016, Deputy R. Weems responded to the Weis Grocery Store, in Lusby, for the report of a theft. The complainant explained they had been shopping earlier at the store and inadvertently left their purse behind in a grocery cart. When they returned to retrieve the purse a short time later, they realized it was gone. The missing contents include: a MD Driver's License, five (5) social security cards and three (3) Credit Cards.

BURGLARY CASE # 16-71558: On December 19, 2016, Deputy B. Boerum responded to Sixes Road, in Prince Frederick, for the report of a burglary. The complainant explained that someone had unplugged the heater to one of their greenhouses, killing all of the plants inside. He advised he last checked to make sure the heaters were turned on and the greenhouse doors were shut on December 18, at approximately 3:30pm. Upon entering the greenhouse at 2:20pm, he discovered someone had entered the greenhouse and intentionally disconnected the heater. He advised there was no damage to the outside door of the greenhouse and that the door did not have a lock.

BURGLARY CASE #16-71468: On December 19, 2016, Deputy B. Boerum responded to a burglary call on Calvert Beach Road, in Prince Frederick. Upon arrival the complainant explained they had heard a noise at their back gate and when they looked outside, they witnessed two (2) males, wearing hoodie jackets, enter their backyard. The males attempted to open the locked back door, while the homeowner was inside the home. They left the area when they were not able to make entry. There was no damage to the residence; and at this time no items appear to have been stolen.

CDS VIOLATION CASE #16-72453: On December 24, 2016, at approximately 12:30pm, Deputy J. Livingston responded to a hit and run accident in the area of Bowie Shop Road/MD Rt. 4. Prior to his arrival Deputy N. Barger advised him that witnesses to the accident observed the suspect vehicle (Ford truck with VA tags) turn down Bowie Shop Road. Deputy Livingston activated his emergency lights when he observed a truck matching the description and made contact with the driver, Angela Nicholson, 27, of Friendship, MD. In clear view he could see an exposed syringe on the center console, along with a small plastic baggie of suspected CDS. He also observed a small silver pill holder with four (4) pills inside. She was transported to the Detention Center and charged with CDS: Possession of Heroin and CDS: Possession of a Dangerous Nonnarcotic drug (Xanax).

CDS VIOLATION CASE #16-72379: On December 23, 2016, at approximately 8:20pm, Deputy P. Wood was dispatched to the 7-11 on Hallowing Point Road, in Prince Frederick, for a check welfare call. Employees explained that they placed the call because they were concerned for a female who had been in the bathroom for a couple of hours and kept opening and closing the door. Deputy Wood knocked on the door and made contact with Evie Miller, 36, of Lusby. Miller was coherent but her answers did not match up with the amount of time she had spent in the bathroom. A warrant and driving status check were done and he was informed her privilege to drive was suspended. When asked she admitted to having driven herself to the 7-11. At that time he conducted a lawful check of her purse and found a plastic wet wipes container with four (4) used hypodermic needles, two (2) metal spoons with residue on them, a metal tin containing a white paper fold with white powder and several pills inside. She was transported to the Detention Center and charged with CDS: Possession of Heroin, CDS: Possess Dangerous Nonnarcotic drugs (Clonazepam, Adderall), Possession of Paraphernalia (metal spoon) and CDS: Administer Equipment Possession/Distribute (hypodermic needles).

DISORDERLY CONDUCT CASE #16-72104: On December 22, 2016, Deputy N. Buckler was called to the Bank of America on Commerce Lane, in Prince Frederick, for a disorderly subject. He arrived with Deputy A. Ostazeski and they made contact with the subject, Jay Fulton, 55, of St. Leonard, who stated he was trying to obtain a bank card to remove his $1.3 trillion from the bank. There were multiple patrons standing in line at the bank who heard Mr. Fulton repeatedly yelling profane language, refusing to step out of the teller line and referencing Satan. When he was finally coaxed to step outside, he requested to urinate on the sidewalk and this comment gained the attention of a patron walking into the bank. Mr. Fulton was told it was time to leave but would not cooperate. At this time he was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct and issued a "no trespass" warning for the Bank of America.

THEFT CASE #16-72069: On December 22, 2016, Deputy A. Ostazeski responded to Thunderbird Drive, in Lusby, for the report of a theft. The complainant stated items had been stolen from their vehicle while it was parked in their driveway overnight. They had last checked on their car around 9:00pm on the 21st, and upon returning to the vehicle at 5:15am that morning, it was obvious that items from the center console had been strewn around the vehicle and out of place. A heavy weight black jacket was also stolen (the right chest has cursive embroidered letters - the left chest has "Patuxent High School Football" along with a panther paw print.

THEFT CASE #16-72463: On December 24, 2016, Deputy C. Callison was dispatched to the Good Day Market on Dares Beach Road, in Prince Frederick, for the report of a theft. An employee reported an unidentified black male entered his lottery numbers to be printed on the lottery machine and when the tickets printed, he left the store with three (3) Maryland Lottery tickets he did not pay for.

THEFT CASE #16-72450: On December 24, 2016, Deputy B. Boerum responded to Pine Blvd, in Lusby, for the report of a theft. Upon arrival the complainant advised someone stole a package, containing a Notary kit, along with an extra Notary stamp, that was confirmed to have been delivered. A delivery confirmation from UPS was sent to the victim's cellular telephone indicating it was delivered on December 21st at 12:45pm.

THEFT CASE #16-72328: On December 23, 2016, at approximately 1:45pm, Deputy T. Holt responded to Winnebago Lane, in Lusby, for a report of a theft from vehicle. The victim stated someone had entered their unlocked vehicle and stole a change holder from the vehicle sometime after 6:00pm the night before.

THEFT CASE #16-71729: On December 20, 2016, Deputy J. Harms was dispatched to Sequoia Way, in Prince Frederick, for a theft. The complainant advised that two (2) packages were shipped to their residence on December 15th and both were stolen. One package arrived at 11:00am and contained clothing; the second package arrived at 1:00pm and contained miscellaneous home goods.

BURGLARY CASE #16-73317: On December 30, 2016, at approximately 2:00pm, Deputy R. Weems responded to Johnswoods Road, in Lusby, for the report of a burglary. The complainant stated that sometime overnight someone entered their residence and stole an X-Box 1, two (2) Amazon gift cards and an iPhone 6. It is unknown how entry was made but a bedroom window was found to be unsecure and the lock on one of the doors could be easily bypassed.

CDS VIOLATION CASE #16-73351: On December 30, 2016, Deputy A. Locke was dispatched to the Prince Frederick Starbucks for a check welfare call. When Deputy Locke arrived an employee of Starbucks stated that a female had been in the bathroom for approximately 45 minutes and was not responding to knocks on the door. When he also received no response, he opened the unlocked door and discovered a white female standing at the baby changing table with two (2) hypodermic syringes, a spoon with a brown-colored cotton submerged in a liquid, an altered q-tip, cigarette lighter, bottle filled with water, pieces of toilet paper, a cell phone and a purse in plain view. The female, Evie Miller, 36, of Lusby was detained. During a probable cause search of Miller's purse, Deputy Locke located additional items: a small zip-loc bag containing 8 balls of a tan powder substance (heroin), a cigarette wrapper with cotton inside and a clear straw. Miller was transported to the Detention Center where she was charged with CDS: Possession of Heroin and CDS: Administer Equipment Possession/Distribute (hypodermic syringe).

CDS VIOLATION CASE #16-72831: On December 27, 2016, at approximately 3:00pm, Deputy T. Buckler responded to the area of Mears Avenue, in Chesapeake Beach, for the report that a suspicious person was seen looking into vehicles. Upon entering the area, Deputy Buckler made contact with the suspect male matching the description, John Neale, 27, of Prince Frederick. Neale admitted he was aware he had an open warrant for Non-Support of a Minor Child. He was transported to the Detention Center and while being processed, a straw was found hidden in his sock. He was charged with Possession of Paraphernalia (cut straw).

DISORDERLY CONDUCT CASE #17-10: On January 1, 2017, at approximately 1:00am, Deputy C. Childress responded to the Green Turtle, in Prince Frederick, for the report of a disorderly female. Upon arriving witnesses explained that Darlene Colbert, 56, of Oxon Hill, MD, had been inside the establishment and accidentally picked up a cell phone that belonged to someone else. An argument ensued in the parking lot and the owner of the cell phone received her phone back and wished no further Police involvement. At that time Deputy Childress heard Colbert shout expletives at the victim and was informed Colbert had also punched the bartender and shoved a patron. She was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and transported to the Detention Center for processing.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT CASE #16-73112: On December 29, 2016, at approximately 8:00am, Deputy W. Durner responded to Roy Rogers on HG Trueman Road, in Solomons, for the report of a person sleeping outside of the restaurant. Upon my arrival he observed Austin Leaman, 21, of Lusby, asleep and leaning against the wall of the restaurant with trash and cigarettes lying all around him. Deputy Durner recognized Leaman from the previous day when Leaman was acting disorderly outside of the Solomon's Burger King and also earlier, on this day, acting disorderly inside the Holiday Inn, also in Solomon's. During both encounters Leaman was using profanity and making verbal threats. When Leaman was told to place his hands behind his back, he began to scream profanity and would not cooperate. Upon gaining control of Leaman and searching his person, a hand rolled marijuana cigarette was found in his left front jacket pocket. Deputy Durner was aware that Leaman had received a Civil Citation for marijuana recently (December 15th), making this his second offense. Due to his behavior drawing attention to patrons in the Roy Rogers, he was transported to the Detention Center and arrested for Disorderly Conduct (banned from the Roy Rogers for life) and issued a Civil Citation for the marijuana.

THEFT CASE #16-72989: On December 28, 2016, at approximately 12:00pm, Deputy P. Wood received a call for the report of a theft on Harvest Grove Lane, in Prince Frederick. Upon his arrival the victim stated he was in the process of moving out of his house and had last been there on December 10th. Upon returning to retrieve additional items on December 26th, he realized several items he left behind - five (5) door lock/handle assemblies, two (2) contract boxes of electrical outlets and a custom Louisville Slugger baseball bat - were now missing.

THEFT CASE #16-72855: On December 27, 2016, at approximately 6:30pm, Deputy G. Gott responded to Golden West Way, in Lusby, for the report of a theft. Upon arrival he made contact with the complainant who stated someone had stolen a 8 ½ foot, stainless steel Snow Dog VXF 85 V snow plow and a Salt Dog SHPE 2000 spreader box. Both items were brand new and in shipping boxes sitting on a trailer in the driveway. The theft took place sometime between 8:00pm on December 26 and 5:00pm on December 27th.

On January 2nd, 2017 at approximately 3:27 p.m. deputies were dispatched to a residence on Ponds Wood Road in Huntingtown for a report of a man causing a disturbance while in possession of a firearm. While units were responding, the suspect began to make threats to "shoot it out" with the police when they arrived. Callers from the residence identified the suspect as Douglas Jones. The callers advised Mr. Jones resides at the same house and had assaulted one of the other residents.

Deputies arrived at the residence and observed Mr. Jones walking around the yard with a shotgun. They immediately set up a perimeter and attempted to make contact with the suspect. The deputies ordered him to put down the weapon several times. However, he refused the requests and instead pointed the shotgun toward the deputies. The deputies were able to stay behind cover and continue giving Mr. Jones verbal commands in an attempt to get him to surrender. Eventually the suspect placed the shotgun on the ground and was placed under arrest without injury.

Mr. Douglas Jones was subsequently charged with three counts of Assault First Degree, three counts of Assault Second Degree of a Law Enforcement Officer, and a Felon in Possession of a Rifle/Shotgun.

CDS VIOLATION CASE #17-450: On January 3, 2017, Deputy J. Denton conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Little Cove Point Road/Platinum Drive, in Lusby, on a vehicle he observed travelling without a tag light and with an expired registration sticker. As he approached the driver, Jamal Davis, 20, of Lexington Park, MD, he detected a strong odor of marijuana. A search of the vehicle revealed (4) four clear plastic bags containing marijuana (weighing 90.3 grams) and when searching the passenger, Tyquan Mims, 20, of SE Washington, DC, he discovered a fully loaded Tarus PT 111 Pro 9mm handgun tucked into his waistband. Both Davis and Mims were transported to the Detention Center and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Narcotic (Marijuana) and Possession of Marijuana 10 + grams. Mims was also charged with CDS: Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm being under the age of 21, Dangerous Weapon/Conceal and Handgun on Person.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT CASE #17-970: On January 6, 2017, while Deputy R. Cox was working security at Calvert Memorial Hospital, he was requested, by medical staff, to assist with a disorderly patient. The uncooperative patient, identified as Daniel Willie, 60, of Lusby, had been asked multiple times to stop his disorderly behavior, which was disturbing other patients. After Mr. Willie was medically cleared by hospital staff, he refused to leave the hospital and became confrontational. He was given multiple travel options to assist in getting him back home but he continued to be disruptive. He was placed under arrest and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Intoxicated Public Disturbance and Fail to Obey Reasonable/Lawful Order.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT CASE #17-527: On January 4, 2017, at approximately 10:35 am, Deputy D. Clark was dispatched to the intersection of Solomon's Island Road/Saint Leonard Road, in Port Republic, in response to a call placed by a concerned citizen who advised of a possible vehicle tampering. After making contact with persons in and around the vehicles, he determined Wilson Carroll, 27, of Prince Frederick had active warrants through the Calvert County Sheriff's Office, Maryland State Police and the Saint Mary's County Sheriff's Office. As he attempted to place Carroll under arrest, he refused to cooperate and became extremely disorderly by yelling, swearing and dragging his legs. Prior to placing Carroll in the Deputy's vehicle, he located two (2) knives on his person. He was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Possession of a Concealed Dangerous Weapon.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY CASE #17-569: On January 4, 2017, Deputy R. Weems responded to the Solomon's Weis parking lot, located on HG Trueman Road, for the report of damage to a vehicle. The complainant stated they parked their vehicle at 7:00am that morning and upon returning at 3:00pm, they discovered the driver's side window had been broken.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY CASE #17-262: On January 2, 2017, Deputy N. Barger was dispatched to Woodbridge Lane, in Huntingtown, for the report of damage to a garage door. Upon arrival the victim explained they last observed their garage door in normal condition on December 30 and returned home on January 2nd to find multiple dents on the lower left side of the door and it appeared the door had been pushed inward.

THEFT CASE #17-767: On January 5, 2017, at approximately 12:45pm, Deputy J. Ward was dispatched to the shopping center parking lot on Dares Beach Road, in Prince Frederick, for the report that a citizen had witnessed an unidentified white male opening unlocked vehicles and quickly leaving. One of the victim's had checked their vehicle and discovered cigarettes had been stolen.

THEFT CASE #17-367: On January 3, 2017, Deputy P. Wood responded to Bright Lane, in Owings, for the report of stolen registration plates. Upon arrival he made contact with the victim who stated the front and rear plates had been stolen from their vehicle which it was either parked in their driveway, or possibly while parked at the park and ride in Waysons Corner.

THEFT CASE #17-224: On January 2, 2017, Deputy P. Wood responded to the home of a victim who wanted to report a theft. The victim explained they had parked their locked vehicle from 12:30pm - 1:30pm on Bay Avenue/Fifth Street, in North Beach, and attended the Polar Bear Charity Event. When they returned to their vehicle, they noticed the rear passenger door was unlocked and credit cards, gift cards and money were stolen from a purse they had hidden in the vehicle.

BURGLARY CASE #17-1622: On January 10, 2017, at approximately 4:45pm, Deputy A. Woodford responded to Elberta Lane, in Huntingtown, for the report of a burglary. The victim explained that while they were at home, they heard their garage door opening so looked outside to observe two (2) persons quickly leaving in a vehicle parked in their driveway. Nothing appears to have been stolen or damaged.

BURGLARY CASE #17-1544: On January 10, 2017, Deputy R. Weems was dispatched to Anchor Drive, in Lusby, for the report of a burglary. The victim stated that sometime between January 5 - 10th, an unknown suspect kicked in their front door, breaking the door jam and frame. Entry was not made and nothing appeared to be missing.

CDS VIOLATION CASE #17-1851: On January 11, 2017, at approximately 10:00pm, Deputy B. Boerum conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling without a working rear brake light at the intersection of S. Solomons Island Road/Dowell Road, in Lusby. Upon making contact with the driver, he detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle he discovered a small cut straw with a white powdery substance inside belonging to the passenger, Dwayne Buck, 35, of Lusby. The driver of the vehicle was issued a traffic warning for the inoperable brake light and Buck was charged with Possession of Paraphernalia (cut straw).

CDS VIOLATION CASE #17-1604: On January 10, 2017, Deputy R. Shrawder was notified that while Christopher Gentry, 30, of Lusby, was being processed at the detention center for an open warrant, Correctional Officer Curtin discovered CDS paraphernalia on his person. Gentry had been wearing multiple pairs of shorts under his pants and that during the booking search, a syringe and a burnt metal spoon were discovered in the front pocket of a pair of shorts. He was charged with CDS Administer Equipment Possession/Distribute and Possession of Contraband in a place of Confinement.

CDS VIOLATION CASE #17-1414: On January 9, 2017, at approximately 1:30pm, while Deputy B. Boerum was patrolling the Solomons area, he observed a vehicle failing to stay in its lane and cross over the line several times. He conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of S. Solomons Island Road/Sawmill Road and detected a very strong odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from inside the vehicle. Both the driver and the passenger consented to a search of their person and the driver was cleared. The passenger, Tarnesha Chambers, 41, of Baltimore, MD, was found to be in possession of two (2) cut plastic straws, containing a white powdery substance, a clear plastic zip up container, with multiple small clear plastic baggies, also containing a white powdery substance and a small clear glass pipe with black burnt residue on both ends. Chambers advised she used the pipe to smoke Crack. The driver was issued a traffic violation warning for the traffic offenses. Chambers was placed into custody and transported to the Detention Center and charged with possession of CDS paraphernalia (cut straws) and CDS Possession of Heroin.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY CASE #17-1979: On January 12, 2017, at approximately 3:00pm, Deputy B. Pounsberry was dispatched to the Chesapeake Beach Town Hall, on Bayside Road, for the report of damaged property. Upon arrival, an employee who works for the Town of Chesapeake Beach, advised that an unknown subject had caused damage to the electronic train, which was a part of their outdoor Christmas light decorations. The lights had been knocked down, severely damaged and were no longer operational and usable. Vehicle tire marks were located near the area; the lights were last seen undamaged on January 6th.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY CASE #17-1774: On January 8, 2017, Deputy C. Johnson was dispatched to the home of a victim who explained that he had parked his trailer overnight on Dayton Avenue/6th Street, in North Beach, and found a trailer tire damaged by a screw. It appeared the screw had been intentionally put in the tire. He stated a few days later, on January 11th, he had moved his trailer to the intersection of Dayton Ave/7th Street, in North Beach, and found a different tire had three screws in it. Both incidences of damage appear to be intentional. No suspects at this time.

THEFT CASE #17-1380: On January 9, 2017, at approximately 3:30pm, Deputy J. Hardesty was dispatched to Duke Street, in Prince Frederick, for the report of a theft. The victim explained they had left their wallet on the front seat of their unsecured vehicle around 1:45pm; and upon returning at 2:45pm, discovered their wallet, credit cards, medical card and driver license were all missing.

Barricade on White Sands Drive

On Jan. 17 at approximately 12:40 p.m., the Calvert County Sheriff's Office received a call from a third party indicating there was an adult male at a residence on White Sands Drive threatening to harm himself with a shotgun. Patrol units arrived and attempted to make contact with the individual. While patrol deputies were on the scene, contact was made with the suspect by phone. He indicated he was not coming out, and he would shoot anyone that came to his door. Deputies learned there was also an adult female in the house. The female was able to escape out the front door while the deputies were talking to the suspect on the phone. The suspect reiterated several times he would shoot anyone that came to the door. At one point during the siege the suspect came out on the porch holding a handgun before returning inside the residence. Special Operations Team members eventually placed chemical munitions into the house causing the suspect to surrender to the deputies.

Sheriff Mike Evans stated, "The deputies on the scene utilized great tactics and decision making skills that allowed the situation to end as peacefully as possible."

The suspect was taken to Calvert Memorial Hospital for an evaluation. Several charges are pending.

On January 17th, at approximately 9:20 a.m. deputies responded to the area of Dalyrmple Road at Hardesty Road, in Sunderland for a report of an attempted carjacking. The female victim had left the area, but reported that while she was driving near that intersection she noticed a white male who appeared to be in distress. The victim had to stop the vehicle in order to avoid hitting the male. Once the vehicle was completely stopped the man pulled a handgun from his pocket and ordered the victim from her car. Instead of getting out of the vehicle, she sped off and called the Calvert County Sheriff's Office a short time later. Numerous patrol units were in the area within a few minutes of the call and began to canvass the area. K-9 units were utilized in an attempt to track the suspect. A Nixle and a reverse 911 call to the area were also sent out. Despite these efforts, the suspect in this case has not been located. He is described as a white male approximately 6 feet tall, weighing 150 to 175 pounds, with dark scruffy facial hair. He is approximately 40 years of age, wearing a brown camouflage jacket, and a black beanie hat. CDS VIOLATION CASE #17-2984: On January 18, 2017, at approximately 10:00am, while Deputy C. Fox was parked in the parking lot located on Bayside Road, in Chesapeake Beach, he observed a female, sitting in the driver's seat of a vehicle, slowly slouching over and then sitting back up on several occasions. He approached her vehicle to check on her welfare, as it appeared she was in some sort of distress. The female, Nichole Ward, 29, of North Beach, exited the vehicle and was clearly impaired. He noticed the orange tip of a hypodermic syringe cap, along with a stretched out hair band and lighter sitting on the front seat. A search of the vehicle and her purse revealed the following: a loaded hypodermic syringe with a brownish liquid and loaded plunger, a used uncapped syringe in plain view in the ash tray of the center console, an unused wrapped syringe, four (4) used syringes, two (2) baggies with heroin, two (2) green baggies with cocaine and numerous empty baggies with suspected heroin and cocaine residue. She was arrested and charged with two (2) counts of CDS Possession-Not Marijuana for the three (3) bags of cocaine, eight (8) bags of Heroin, CDS Administer Equipment Possession/Distribute (hypodermic syringe) and Possession of Paraphernalia (baggies).

CDS VIOLATION CASE #17-2928: On January 17, 2017, at approximately 12:45pm, Deputy J. Denton conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of N. Solomon's Island Road/Traditional Way, in Prince Frederick, on a vehicle he observed travelling without a working headlight. He made contact with the driver and issued her a warning for the broken headlight and for not having the vehicle registration. After he was given permission by the occupants to search the vehicle, he discovered a clear cut straw containing suspected heroin residue in the driver's door handle. The passenger, Joseph Rice, 24, of Huntingtown, admitted to having a loaded handgun under his seat. A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded 9mm Ruger P85 handgun with 10 rounds. The driver was also issued a Criminal Citation for Possession of Paraphernalia (straw). Rice was arrested and charged with a Concealed Dangerous Weapon and Handgun in Vehicle. While being processed at the Detention Center, a plastic bag, containing (7) baggies with heroin residue, was located. An additional charge of Possession of Paraphernalia (baggies) was issued.

CDS VIOLATION CASE #17-3508: On January 21, 2017, Deputy R. Kreps responded to Fairground Road, in Prince Frederick, in response to a suspicious white male going through the dumpster and was pushing a green shopping cart. Upon arrival he located the subject matching the description, David Scruggs, Jr., 41, of North Beach. He asked Scruggs if he had anything illegal on his person and after stating he did not, gave Deputy Kreps permission to search him. Located in his right front pants pocket was a small white pill, identified as Alprazolam. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Detention Center. Upon a secondary search at the Detention Center, two (2) additional pills, a second Alprazolam and an Adderall were located. Scruggs has been charged with CDS Possession-Alprazolam and CDS Possession-Adderall.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT CASE #17-2887: On January 17, 2017, at approximately 7:20pm, Deputy J. Denton responded to the Prince Frederick Safeway to check the welfare of a subject seen sitting on an electrical box on the side of the building. He made contact with Philip Dew, III, 41, of Lusby, and detected a strong alcoholic beverage emitting from his person. He observed him consuming shots of Fireball, had empty shots lying at his feet and additional full shots in his pocket. Mr. Dew could not stand on his own and was using profanity, which caused patrons to stop and take notice. He was told numerous times to stop. While attempting to find him a ride home, he continued to use profanity and became tense, wanting to fight Deputy Denton. He was arrested and transported to the Detention Center and charged with Intoxicated Public Disturbance and Consume-Alcoholic Beverages in Public.

DAMAGED PROPERTY CASE #17-3193: On January 19, 2017, Deputy J. Migliaccio arrived at the Centreville Trailer Parts store, located on Solomons Island Road, in Prince Frederick, for the report of a destruction of property. Upon arrival he spoke with an employee who advised that sometime within the past few days, an unknown suspect(s) drove a vehicle down a grassy hill belonging to the Trailer Parts business. The vehicle created large ruts in the ground and damaged the grass. There are no suspects or witnesses at this time.

DAMAGED PROPERTY CASE #17-2849: On January 17, 2017, Deputy V. O'Donnell arrived at Rattlesnake Road, in Lusby, for report of damaged property. He spoke with the victim who stated his vehicle had both of its' passenger side tires slashed sometime between 9:00pm on January 16 and 2:15pm on January 17. There are no known suspects at this time.

THEFT CASE #17-3493: On January 21, 2017, Deputy R. Kreps was dispatched to Shore Acres Way, in Prince Frederick, for the report of a Destruction of Property. Upon arrival he made contact with the victims who advised that someone had slashed all four (4) tires, cracked two (2) windows and broke the tail lights of their vehicle. They also advised several items were missing: money, an electric impact drill and a pair of ski goggles.

BURGLARY CASE #17-3814: On January 23, 2017, at approximately 1:30pm, Deputy G. Gott responded to Overlook Drive in Lusby, for the report of a burglary in progress. He met with the victim who explained they heard a loud noise in the lower level of their home but did not immediately investigate. A couple of hours later they discovered their locked basement door was sitting wide open and had been kicked in. The occupants of the home reported that rooms had been rummaged through but at this time it is not known what items may have been taken.

CDS VIOLATION CASE #4821: On January 28, 2017, at approximately 7:30pm, Deputy B. Boerum was in the area of Beach Drive, in Lusby, and observed a vehicle with a cracked windshield illegally parked at the Driftwood Beach. As he was approaching the vehicle, the driver attempted to leave the area. Deputy Boerum activated his emergency equipment and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, Thomas Goldring Jr., 60, of Lusby, admitted to driving without a valid license. Upon searching his person Deputy Boerum discovered a clear plastic bag with four white pills (Oxycodone) located inside Goldring's right shoe. The passenger, identified as Erin Stahl, 29, also of Lusby, attempted to hide a clear glass pipe containing a white powdery substance (cocaine) in her jacket sleeve. The glass pipe contained burn marks and a wire filter. Deputy D. Naughton, who assisted with the arrest, advised Stahl to place her hands behind her back but she resisted his commands. When he was able to secure Stahl's hands in handcuffs, she was transported to the Detention Center and charged with Possession of Paraphernalia (glass pipe) and Resist/interfere with Arrest. Goldring was placed into custody and charged with Possession of CDS-not marijuana (Oxycodone), driving without a license and received a repair order for the cracked windshield.

CDS VIOLATION CASE #17-4796: On January 28, 2017, Deputy R. Cress conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling with an obstructed rear-view mirror at the intersection of Greenwood Avenue/5th Street, in North Beach. Deputy C. Fox, who was also on the scene, assisted with the stop. A K9 partner alerted the Deputies to the odor of narcotics in the vehicle. The occupants, Allan Curtin, 53, of Dunkirk, and Janet Custer, 48, of North Beach, were both searched. Custer advised she had a pill container on her and retrieved it from her right front pants pocket. Numerous pills were found inside: 60mg morphine sulphate pills and 10-15 mg Oxycodone Hydrochloride pills. The controlled dangerous drugs were confiscated, as Ms. Custer did not have a prescription on her and was not able to produce a prescription bottle with a valid label. Curtin took responsibility for items located inside the vehicle: a metal smoking device with residue (marijuana), a plastic straw with white powder residue (cocaine), a crown royal bag with a red straw containing a white powder (cocaine), 2 Tylenol bottles: one containing Adderall and 10mg Oxycodone Hydrochloride. The second bottle contained: 8 Amphetamine and Dextroamphetamine pills. All of these items were confiscated, as Curtin could not show proof of prescription or have a proper prescription bottle. Both subjects were transported to the Detention Center. Curtin was charged as follows: issued a traffic warning for the driving infraction, a DC-28 for Possession of Marijuana less than 10 grams, CDS Possession of a Synthetic Narcotic (Oxycontin), CDS Possession of a Dangerous Nonnarcotic drug (Adderall) and Possession of Paraphernalia (straw). Custer was charged as follows: 2 counts of CDS Possession of a Synthetic Narcotic (Oxycodone and Morphine Sulphate) and Possession of Paraphernalia (container).

CDS VIOLATION CASE #17-4408: On January 26, 2017, at approximately 2:45pm, Deputy J. Denton heard a broadcast to be on the lookout for a vehicle operated by an intoxicated white female and traveling with a small child in the vehicle. He was able to locate the vehicle, still running, parked at the Calvert County Health Department, in Prince Frederick. As he approached the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Salli Barats, 51, of St. Leonard, he detected an odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from her person and observed an infant child in the rear car seat. While questioning Ms. Barats, she admitted to having a clear plastic bag containing suspected heroin and handed it to Deputy Denton. At this time Dep. Barger arrived on scene and took over the DUI investigation. Barats then pulled out a clear plastic bottle containing (urine) she planned to submit for her drug test. She was taken into custody and charged with Possession-Not Marijuana (Heroin) and Alter Drug or Alcohol Test.

CDS VIOLATION CASE #17-4362: On January 26, 2017, at approximately 10:20am, Deputy B. Boerum responded to the Fastop on St. Leonard Road, in St. Leonard, to investigate a report of possible CDS activity taking place in the parking lot. When he arrived he contacted a male fitting the description, Christopher Whittaker, 29, of Lusby, and was advised he had an open warrant through Calvert County. He was placed into custody and a search incident to arrest revealed three (3) used syringes and a metal spoon on the inside of his jacket. The spoon had white residue on one side and a black burn mark on the bottom. Whittaker was transported to the Detention Center and served with his outstanding warrant and charged with Possession of CDS Paraphernalia (syringe).

DISORDERLY CONDUCT CASE #17-4782: On January 28, 2017, at approximately 1:00pm, Deputy T. Rzepkowski responded to Dares Beach Road, in Prince Frederick, to investigate a disorderly white male subject seen lying on the ground and appeared to be intoxicated. The caller also advised the male was yelling obscene gestures and threatened anyone who tried to help him. The male, identified as Frederick Donahue, 56, of Chesapeake Beach, was previously banned from the Calvert Village Shopping Center and the Order was still in effect. Donahue was placed in handcuffs and transported to the Detention Center where he was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Trespass: Private Property.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT CASE #17-4217: On January 25, 2017, at approximately 5:00pm, Deputy D. Jacobs was dispatched to Harbor Road, in Chesapeake Beach, for the report of a disorderly subject. Upon arrival he came in contact with Catherine Riley, 53, of Chesapeake Beach, who was extremely intoxicated and he witnessed her fall to the ground. Deputy B. Pounsberry arrived on the scene and stated Riley was removed from the Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa earlier in the day because she refused to check out of the hotel and was too intoxicated to stand. She was asked several times to call for a safe ride home or she would be locked up for public intoxication. She refused to cooperate and was placed under arrest. Riley was charged with Public Intoxication and Failure to Obey a Lawful Order.

DAMAGED PROPERTY CASE #17-4954: On January 29, 2017, at approximately 9:00am, Deputy G. Gott was contacted by a citizen in the area of Overlook Drive, in Lusby, in reference to damaged property. The victim explained they found their mailbox had been damaged and knocked off the post. The box was last seen intact at 6:00pm the previous day (January 28th) and was discovered damaged this morning. After speaking with the complainant, he noticed other mailboxes located nearby on Lake Terrace were also damaged. He made contact with those owners who were unaware of the damage. No suspects at this time.

MAIL TAMPERING CASE #17-4949: On January 29, 2017, Deputy G. Gott responded to Overlook Drive, in Lusby, to speak with a citizen who wanted to report mail tampering. The complainant stated that approximately 7:30am that morning they were walking along Overlook Drive and observed mail scattered on the ground. They also found a package that had been opened but the contents were still in the box. The mail appeared to belong to homeowners living on Overlook Drive.

THEFT CASE #17-4781: On January 28, 2017, at approximately 2:00pm, Deputy T. Rzepkowski responded to Dennis Monnett Road, in Prince Frederick, to investigate a theft of vehicle registration plates. Upon arrival he met with the victim who stated both his front and rear registration plates had been removed from a vehicle he had parked and not driven for the last week.

THEFT CASE #17-4347: On January 26, 2017, at approximately 9:15am, Deputy C. Callison responded to Cambridge Place, in Prince Frederick, for the report of stolen registration plates. The victim stated they parked their vehicle on Cambridge Place on January 24th at 11:30pm; and upon returning to the vehicle at 8:30am this morning, saw that the rear license plate was missing.

THEFT CASE #17-3853: On January 23, 2017, Deputy J. Migliaccio responded to the BP Gas Station located on Town Center Blvd, in Dunkirk, for the report of a theft that just occurred. Upon arrival he spoke with an employee who advised that a light-skinned black male had just stolen a green camo colored ski mask from the display rack. The male ran out of the station and got away in a vehicle parked outside.

THEFT CASE 17-3794: On January 23, 2017, Deputy A. Woodford responded to Old Jones Lane, in Dunkirk, for the report of a theft. He made contact with the complainant who advised a package was stolen from their mailbox. They received a confirmation email at approximately 1:00pm on January 20 that their package from Amazon had been delivered. They did not attempt to retrieve the package until approximately 11:00am the next day (January 21st) and when they did, the package was not in the mailbox. The complainant noticed that there were 2 small boxes in the brush behind her mailbox that were opened and emptied of their contents. The owners were contacted and were unaware of the incident.

THEFT CASE #17-3789: On January 23, 2017, at approximately 11:00am, Deputy T. Buckler responded to Bay Ave, in North Beach, for a reported theft. The complainant advised the decorative pieces she had hung on the (communal) walls outside of their apartment were stolen. Items include: a 2ft x 1ft wooden fish (mirror), large wooden fish with pictures of North Beach and a decorative brass can sitting next to a door. This theft would have taken place sometime between January 3 - 30th.

BURGLARY CASE #17-5551: On February 1, 2017, at approximately 2:30pm, Deputy N. Buckler responded to Stamper Court, in Prince Frederick, for the report of a destruction of property. The victim stated he was away for the weekend and upon returning, discovered the front door to his residence would not close properly. It appears someone attempted to kick the door in but did not make entry. There is no suspect information at this time.

CDS VIOLATION CASE #17-6254: On February 4, 2017, at approximately 5:00pm, Deputy S. Moran was dispatched to the College of Southern Maryland, in Prince Frederick, for the report of an intoxicated subject sitting in a (running) vehicle and parked at the college. Upon arrival he observed a vehicle matching the description double parked and the college security officer, Don Chamblee, removing the keys from the car's ignition. The driver, Thomas Miller, Jr., 34, of Owings, was slumped over in the driver's seat with his cell phone in his hand. As Deputy Moran made contact with Miller, he awoke and began using his phone. EMS arrived to check on Miller, who refused treatment. He had slurred speech and appeared disoriented. Miller had an open pill bottle containing Oxycontin and Alprazolam in his vehicle and was not able to pass field sobriety tests. He was placed under arrest and charged with Driving/Attempting to Drive a Vehicle While Impaired, CDS Possession of a Synthetic Narcotic (Oxycontin) and CDS Dangerous Nonnarcotic Drug (Alprazolam).

CDS VIOLATION CASE #17-6196: On February 4, 2017, at approximately 10:30am, Deputy M. Trigg, observed a vehicle speeding southbound on Solomon's Island Road, in the area of Broomes Island, and conduct a traffic stop at the Post Office on Governor's Run Road. The Control Center notified Deputy Marshall that the driver, Larry Young, 40, of Waldorf, MD, had an expired license to drive. When the K9 scan resulted positive for drugs, Deputy Marshall conducted a search of the vehicle where he located a small blue round pill later identified as Oxycodone Hydrochloride and found a small glassine baggie with light residue inside of it. Young was arrested for CDS Possession of a Synthetic narcotic (Oxycodone) and Possession of Paraphernalia (baggie).

CDS VIOLATION CASE #17-5848: On February 2, 2017, at approximately 9:00pm, Deputy K. Williamson was conducting stationary radar and clocked a vehicle speeding 25 mph over the posted limit at the intersection of MD Rt. 2/Wayside Drive, in Sunderland. He conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the (4) four occupants. At that time Deputy R. Burgraff and Deputy D. Clark arrived on the scene and asked the occupants to step out of the vehicle. While searching the right rear passenger, Theresa Powell, 54, of Annapolis, MD, Deputies discovered she was in possession of (2) two white rocks and paraphernalia. Found in the vehicle's trunk was a black satchel, belonging to Eugene Thompson, 43, also of Annapolis, MD, containing a clear plastic bag with 27 grams of suspected Marijuana and a digital scale with Marijuana residue. Powell was arrested and charged with (1) one count of Possession of Crack Cocaine and Possession of Paraphernalia (plastic baggie). Thompson was charged with (1) one count of CDS: Possess with Intent to Distribute (Marijuana), Possession of Marijuana 10+ grams and Possession of Paraphernalia (digital scale). The driver, Artrell Pratt, of Annapolis, MD, was issued a speeding citation and a warning for possessing two MD licenses.

CDS VIOLATION CASE #17-5628: On February 1, 2017, at approximately 9:00pm, Deputy K. Williamson observed a vehicle traveling in an unsafe manner, without using the proper turn signals. He conducted a traffic stop in the Dunkirk Safeway parking lot and made contact with the driver, Adora Griffin, 27, of Sunderland, and passenger Antwuan Bland, 33, of Prince Frederick. A K9 sniff of the vehicle resulted in a positive alert. Deputy Williamson discovered (4) four small baggies, a small black bag and a backpack containing a bag full of pills. Griffin was issued a traffic citation for driving in violation of her license restriction, warnings for speeding and unsafe lane changes and charged with Possession of Paraphernalia (baggies). Bland was charged with CDS: Possession-not Marijuana (Ziprasidone Hydrochloride) and Possession of Paraphernalia (baggies).

CDS VIOLATION CASE #17-5615: On February 1, 2017, at approximately 8:00pm, Deputy J. Denton observed a vehicle on Dalrymple Road, in Sunderland, traveling in an unsafe manner, repeatedly crossing over the directional lines. As he attempted to conduct a traffic stop, he witnessed the passenger toss (3) three clear plastic bags out the window while the vehicle continued driving away. Deputy D. Naughton and Deputy T. Holt arrived on the scene and were able to get in front and block the vehicle on Hardesty Road, just prior to Valley Lane. As the front seat passenger, Shante Johnson, 34, of Lusby, was extracted from the vehicle, a clear plastic bag containing a white powdery substance (cocaine) fell from his person. A search of the vehicle revealed a cut green straw in the center console. At this time the driver, Shericka Brooks, 34, of Prince Frederick, and passenger (Johnson) were placed in handcuffs. Deputies recovered the clear plastic bags, all containing cocaine, for a total weight of 17 grams. Both Johnson and Brooks were transported to the Detention Center and charged with CDS: Possession with Intent to Distribute (Cocaine) and CDS: Possession of Cocaine.

CDS VIOLATION CASE #17-5235: On January 30, 2017, at approximately 10:00pm, Deputy J. Denton and Deputy D. Naughton were assisting a pedestrian who was walking out in the cold, along Solomon's Island Road/Rousby Hall Road, in Lusby. While on the scene a vehicle drove past and a strong odor of marijuana could be detected emitting from the vehicle. Deputy Denton activated his emergency lights and conducted a traffic stop on Solomon's Island Road/White Sands Drive, in Lusby. The (5) five occupants were identified and searched. One of the occupants, Johnny Lawler, 23, of Bear, DE, was found to be in possession of Heroin, Suboxone and paraphernalia. He was transported to the Detention Center and charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of a Synthetic Narcotic (Suboxone) and Possession of Paraphernalia (syringe). The other occupants were charged on a MD Civil Citation for Marijuana found within the vehicle and released on the scene.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT CASE #17-5389: On January 31, 2017, at approximately 7:00pm, Deputy W. Durner and other members of the Sheriff's Office responded to the area of Thunderbird Drive, in Lusby, for the report of an incoherent subject with a knife. Upon arrival Deputies observed several citizens pointing in the direction of Thunderbird Drive, where the suspect could be heard in the wood area. Deputy Durner approached Justin Brinkley, 25, of Princeton, West Virginia, who was speaking incoherently and very disoriented. Brinkley had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his person and had a small cut under his chin from an apparent fall. EMS responded to the scene and cleared Brinkley medically and left the scene. Due to the large amount of people that he disturbed, Brinkley was placed under arrest and charged with Disorderly Conduct and Intoxicated Public Disturbance.

THEFT CASE #17-5536: On February 1, 2017, at approximately 1:00pm, Deputy T. Rzepkowski responded to the Prince Frederick Walmart for the report of a shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival he met with the Walmart security guard, Gerard Jones, who informed him that Tammy Ross, 56, of Lexington Park, MD, was observed taking merchandise tags off of items and placing them on other merchandise. She then proceeded to the self-checkout line where she rang up the items and attempted to leave the store. Deputy Rzepkowski placed Ross under arrest and charged her with Theft Less $1,000.00.

CDS VIOLATION #17-12357: On March 8, 2017, at approximately 9:00pm, Deputy J. Denton conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle he observed being driven with a tail light out near the intersection of S. Solomons Island Road/St. Island Road. Dfc. Moran and his K-9 partner arrived on the scene as he made contact with the driver and the other occupants of the vehicle. The rear passenger, Terry Windsor, 25, of Faulkner, MD, refused to cooperate and kept his hand clenched. Deputy Denton opened Windsor's hand and observed a blue pill (Oxycodone) and an oval capsule (Alprazolam). The driver was issued a warning for the traffic violation and released on the scene. Windsor was arrested for CDS Possession of a Synthetic narcotic (Oxycodone) and for CDS Possession of a Dangerous nonnarcotic drug (Alprazolam).

CDS VIOLATION #17-12113: On March 7, 2017, at approximately 4:00pm, Deputy K. Williamson received an alert that a passing vehicle was being driven with a suspended registration. He stopped the vehicle at the Rt. 2/4 Liquor store and made contact with the driver, Tirrell Simms, 27, of Pomfrey, MD, to inform him that he had a broken (rear) brake light globe and for the driving violation. While he obtained names of all the occupants, Trooper McCombs and his K9 partner, Plank, conducted a K9 sniff of the vehicle, which resulted in a positive alert. Deputy Williamson discovered 82 loose pills in the console (Acetaminophen/Hydrocodone). Simms was placed under arrest for CDS: Possession of a Synthetic Narcotic, Driving on a Suspended License, Driving with a Suspended Registration and received a warning for the broken brake light globe. As he was searched inside the Detention Center, C/O Lanier discovered a piece of folded paper with Marijuana residue. Simms received additional charges of Possession/Receive Contraband while confined (Marijuana) and Possession of Contraband in a Place of Confinement.

CDS VIOLATION #17-12066: On March 7, 2017, at approximately 1:00pm, Deputy M. Trigg stopped a vehicle at the intersection of German Chapel Road/S. Solomon's Island Road. The occupants were searched and the front passenger, Freddie Commodore, 52, of Port Republic, was found to have two (2) recently filled prescription bottles on his person which were almost empty. He was arrested for two (2) counts of CDS Possession with Intent to Distribute (Oxycontin, Alprazolam) and Possession of Paraphernalia (bottles).

CDS VIOLATION #17-11951: On March 6, 2017, Deputy G. Gott observed a vehicle travelling slowly and come to a complete stop in the middle of the road, blocking passage. He conducted a traffic stop at Barreda Boulevard/Dogwood Drive, making contact with the driver, Chelsea Hoofnagle, 30, of Lusby. While speaking with Hoofnagle he observed a prescription bag on the passenger side seat containing buprenorphine packets, displaying two different serial numbers. Hoofnagle was placed under arrest for possession of Possession of a Synthetic Narcotic (Suboxone) and CDS Possession of Dangerous Nonnarcotic drugs (Alprazolam and Adderall). She was transported to the Detention Center and was also issued a warning for the traffic violation.

CDS VIOLATION CASE #17-11779: On March 6, 2017, at approximately 7:30am, Deputy T. Mohler observed a vehicle traveling well above the posted speed limit and was able to initiate at traffic stop near Solomon's Island Road/Ball Road, in Saint Leonard. Upon contacting the driver, David Dziergowski, Jr., 25, of Lusby, he immediately detected the strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle and its' contents revealed a glass smoking device, a green colored rubber container containing THC (Dab), a metal rod with concentrated THC wax and an unopened Suboxone strip. Dziergowski was charged with Possession of a Synthetic Narcotic (Suboxone), CDS Possession of a Dangerous Nonnarcotic Drug (THC Wax) and Possession of Paraphernalia (glass pipe).

DAMAGED PROPERTY CASE #17-12608: On March 10, 2017, Deputy R. Shrawder was dispatched to Armory Road Self Storage, in Prince Frederick, for the report of property damage. Upon arrival he spoke with the suspect on the scene, Salvatore Gallodoro, 38, of Prince Frederick, who admitted he couldn't get into his storage unit so he broke the door to gain entry. He was arrested for Destruction of Property Less than $1000.00 and transported to the Detention Center. He also received an eviction notice to remove all of his items from the storage facility.

DAMAGED PROPERTY CASE #17-11965: On March 6, 2017, Deputy A. Ostazeski responded to Senora Lane, in Lusby, for a report of damaged property. The victim explained they parked their car around 5:00pm and around 10:30pm that evening received an email from On-Star notifying them that two (2) of their tires were low on air. After thoroughly inspecting the tires, they realized the tires were intentionally slashed. There are no suspects at this time.

DAMAGED PROPERTY CASE #17-11827: On March 6, 2017, Deputy R. Shrawder responded to Stafford Road, in Prince Frederick, for the report of damaged property. When he arrived the complainant advised that sometime between 10:15am and 10:50 that day, someone intentionally scratched the rear passenger side door of their vehicle. There are no known suspects at this time.

THEFT CASE #17-12918: On March 11, 2017, Deputy C. Idol responded to 5th Street, in North Beach, for the report of a theft. Upon arrival the victim advised he was moving items from his vehicle into his residence and had stepped away briefly; upon returning, discovered a black Taurus 99AF 9mm gun (with brown grip and in a black holster/case) was missing.

THEFT CASE #17-12632: On March 10, 2017, Deputy S. Trotter assisted a victim who arrived at the Sheriff's Office to report a theft. The victim explained they had parked their vehicle at the Calvert Memorial Hospital on March 2nd and discovered their handicap placard was stolen. She was provided a case number and advised to contact the MVA to get a placard replacement.

THEFT CASE #17-12428: On March 9, 2017, Deputy C. Johnson responded to the CVS Pharmacy, in Dunkirk, for the report of a shoplifting. The manager stated a light skin black male entered the store with a flat/empty duffle bag. Upon leaving, he did not stop to check out at the register, but rather left the store with the same bag appearing to be full and bulky. The manager checked the area where the shoplifter was last seen in the store and discovered sixteen (16) bottles of body wash missing from the shelf.

THEFT CASE #17-11905: On March 6, 2017, Deputy G. Gott responded to Appeal Lane, in Lusby, for the report of a mail theft. The victim explained her neighbor had called her on March 4th, around 1:00pm, to let her know she had a package delivered because she was away from home. Her neighbor called back on March 5th at 2:15pm and advised her that the package was no longer outside her door.

THEFT CASE #17-11849: On March 6, 2017, Deputy C. Sloane was dispatched to Lilac Circle, in St. Leonard, for the report of a theft. The complainant advised they had two (2) tarps covering stacks of wood in their yard - a 20x20 blur tarp and a 10x10 brown tarp. Sometime between Saturday March 5th around 7:00pm and March 6th, someone stole both of the tarps.
