ERICKSON: This Is A Turning Point

Floyd Lee Corkins walked into the offices of the Family Research Council after seeing it listed as an anti-gay hate group on the Southern Poverty Law Center's website. The Family Research Council is a pro-Christian, pro-family organization, which makes it a hate site to the left. Corkins intended to kill the employees and stuff their mouths with Chick-Fil-A sandwiches, another organization he considered bigoted. Thanks to a security guard, he never made it through the door.

James Hodgkinson, also a fan of the Southern Poverty Law Center, stewed in leftwing rhetoric. Hearing leftwing pundits and Democrat leaders claim Republicans really want people to die, really want to destroy the planet, and really helped the Russians take over our republic, he decided to act. In a small blessing, he was a terrible shot. But he tried.

Neither the Southern Poverty Law Center or any other organization or individual is to blame for the actions of these nuts. But rhetoric is designed to incite and mobilize. The Southern Poverty Law Center labels Christian groups hate groups to stir up their donors and seem useful. Pundits on MSNBC and Democrat congressional leaders say the GOP wants to kill everyone and destroy the planet to keep their leftwing base riled up. None of them do it to inspire insane people to do insane things.

Wingnuts love to reference the Southern Poverty Law Centers list of "hate" groups. As if it was valid in the slightest. Our current ultra-left moron MPD, Sappy, did exactly that in a past post.

Yeah I can't imagine why they would be labeled that way? Sarcasm.

These people are lunatics and not just protecting their religion. They deliberately lie and denegrate people they don't agree with. Sounds like the definition of hate to me. Just like Trump they make up whatever facts they want to support their narrative.

One of the primary goals of the homosexual rights movement is to abolish all age of consent laws and to eventually recognize pedophiles as the 'prophets' of a new sexual order."
—1999 FRC publication, "Homosexual Behavior and Pedophilia," Robert Knight and Frank York

"A little-reported fact is that homosexual and lesbian relationships are far more violent than are traditional married households."
—Timothy Dailey, FRC publication, "Homosexual Parenting: Placing Children at Risk," 2002

Neither of these statements has a shred of truth to it.

So, Corkins was justified in wanting to go into the Family Research Council and shoot it up. Great!

I’m a Pedophile, but Not a Monster
I'm attracted to children but unwilling to act on it. Before judging me harshly, would you be willing to listen?

Nickerson said that he didn’t “choose” his “sexuality” and that he is “resigned to the fact that I’m basically going to spend the rest of my life alone.”

“My purpose is to go out and educate people, allowing people like myself to come out and be open,” he said. “Society makes it harder by persecuting us because a lot of us become fatalistic.”

“We start to think it doesn’t matter what we do or say, they’re going to hate us anyway,” he added.

Nickerson concluded, “We love kids and we want to protect them too.”

PEDOPHILIA THE NEXT 'SEXUAL-RIGHTS' REVOLUTION?
Academics, psychologists expanding LGBT argument to 'minor-attracted persons'

Once considered taboo, psychologists are beginning to walk down the same path LGBT activists established more than 50 years ago, insisting that pedophilia is an inborn “sexual orientation,” not a learned sexual behavior.

If people are born with a sexual attraction to minors, the argument goes, their “orientation” should be accepted as normative and not stigmatized.

James Cantor, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist in the Law and Mental Health Program at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, a large mental health and teaching hospital in Canada and an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto, is regarded internationally as a leading “sexologist” studying pedophilia.

Cantor says his research concludes pedophiles share distinct characteristics of “brain wiring.” He contends some 1 to 5 percent of all men are predisposed to be primarily sexually attracted to children.

In a New York Times report on Cantor’s work Dec. 22, reporter Laura Kane noted pedophilia “has been widely viewed as a psychological disorder triggered by early childhood trauma.”

However, many experts now, she wrote, “see it as a biologically rooted condition that does not change – like a sexual orientation – thanks largely to a decade of research by Dr. James Cantor at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.”

Domestic Violence Likely More Frequent for Same-Sex Couples

2 Studies That Prove Domestic Violence Is an LGBT Issue

The CDC’s 2010 National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey, released again in 2013 with new analysis, reports in its first-ever study focusing on victimization by sexual orientation that the lifetime prevalence of rape, physical violence, or stalking by an intimate partner was 43.8 percent for lesbians, 61.1 percent for bisexual women, and 35 percent for heterosexual women, while it was 26 percent for gay men, 37.3 percent for bisexual men, and 29 percent for heterosexual men (this study did not include gender identity or expression).

These studies refute the myths that only straight women get battered, that men are never victims, and that women never batter — in other words, that domestic violence is not an LGBT issue. In fact, it is one of our most serious health risks, affecting significant numbers within our communities.

“Abuse is not about violence; it’s about control,” says Beth Leventhal, executive director of The Network/La Red in Boston. “You can be just as controlling of someone if you are small — as if you’re large. It’s about using violence or any other means of gaining and maintaining control.”

4 Myths About Intimate Partner Violence in Lesbian Relationships

Myth #1: Women have equal power in a relationship, so the violence must be mutual.

People somehow believe that the physical similarities make the dynamics equal and therefore, completely ignore the numerous other factors that can create power imbalances.

Saying that inequalities don’t exist means that you could be ignoring factors such as racism, internalized homophobia, ableism, unequal wealth, age, and many other factors that can create a power differential in a relationship.

The truth is that physical violence and threats do occur in lesbian relationships, despite the fact that many like to believe that women are incapable of it.

17-45% of lesbians have reported being a victim of at least one act of physical violence at the hands of a lesbian partner, and up to 50% of lesbians have reported some type of sexual abuse. In a survey of over 1,100 lesbians, slightly more than half reported being abused by a lesbian partner at some point in her lifetime.

And make no mistake: This is not “cat fighting.”

One study found that 10% of lesbians reported physical abuse, such as hitting, kicking, and biting. Of the 21 intimate partner homicides that occurred in same-sex partner relationships in 2013, 19% of victims were white, cisgender lesbians. This is second only to gay men.

Lesbian Partner Violence Fact Sheet

How common is lesbian partner violence?
About 17-45% of lesbians report having been the victim of a least one act of physical violence perpetrated by a lesbian partner (1,5,6,13). Types of physical abuse named by more than 10% of participants in one study included:

  • Disrupting others eating or sleeping habits
  • Pushing or shoving, driving recklessly to punish, and slapping, kicking, hitting, or biting (11).
  • Sexual abuse by a woman partner has been reported by up to 50% of lesbians (12).
  • Psychological abuse has been reported as occurring at least one time by 24% to 90% of lesbians (1,5,6,11,14).

The research usually has been done with mostly white, middle-class lesbians who are sufficiently open about their sexual orientation to have met researchers seeking participants in the lesbian community. Subsequently, these findings may not apply to women who are less open, less educated, or of other ethnic backgrounds.

Why would a lesbian batter another woman?
Lesbians who abuse another women may do so for reasons similar to those that motivate heterosexual male batterers. Lesbians abuse their partners to gain and maintain control (9). Lesbian batterers are motivated to avoid feelings of loss and abandonment. Therefore, many violent incidents occur during threatened separations. Many lesbian batterers grew up in violent households and were physically, sexually, or verbally abused and/or witnessed their mothers being abused by fathers or stepfathers (6,7,14).
