Senior Transportation Services

Not sure where to post this, so I'll try here. A senior friend over 70 cannot see to drive and he has a lot of doctor's visits. He clears $1,600/month and was told by someone at Calvert County's aging services that he makes too much in order to receive help getting to his doctors and other errrands. Does this right? Not sure if it would be the same with MD Aging Services. That's a whole other assessment, but it seems the results should be about the same. Any advice or direction would be helpful. Is $1,600/month considered a lot of money? I know it's more than others have, but he really has a hard time paying for rides and always has to rely on others. Sometimes it is three times a week and the appointments are long.

Maybe it's time for him to move to a community that is better serves his needs.
Like a retirement community.
