White House Statement on North Korea

I think the Mr. Kim Jong-un should take this administration seriously. :coffee:

(Seriously)

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen.
We had a small-group national security meeting today with the president and the vice-president about the latest provocation on the Korean peninsula.

We have many military options and the president wanted to be briefed on each one of them.

We made clear that we have the ability to defend ourselves and our allies, South Korea and Japan, from any attack and our commitments among the allies are iron-clad. Any threat to the United States or its territories including Guam, or our allies, will be met with a massive military response, a response both effective and overwhelming.

Kim Jong-un should take heed of the United Nations security council’s unified voice, all members unanimously agreed on the threat North Korea poses, and they remain unanimous in their commitment to the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula. Because we are not looking to the total annihilation of a country, namely North Korea, but as I said we have many options to do so.

Thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen.

My first reaction to the statement was "whoa" did I just hear what I thought I did? I was happy they replayed it very soon after that so other stations just joining FNC for the "breaking news" could hear it.

Yep. That's what I thought I'd heard. :yay:

Whoa.

Reuters is already reporting it as a threat against NORK. Sounded more like a statement to me, but obviously the Marxists don't know the difference.

Whoa.

Many options to do so. Would probably depend on the attack given by N. Korea.
It sounds to me like a no BS proclamation. No threat Unless.
No Fire and fury, just a promise.
A logical well thought out promise.

Like maxine waters said. If N. Korea fires on Guam Donald Trump will lead us into war
Exactly what he is sup-posed to do.
In fact he will be given no choice.

That isn't a threat, it's a cold blooded logical promise.
What other choice would he have.?

I seem to remember the Chinese Foreign Minister saying that his govt will come to the aid of NORK if the US strikes first.

I don't believe Trump has any intention of striking first.
If China comes to the aid of Nork after Nork fires a nuclear weapon that will be their mistake.
If they were smart they would invade this country and throw the little fart making all this trouble out on his ear and be heroes to the rest of the world.

To be clear, it's a cold blooded logical statement of fact.

Promises are meant to be broken, like the backs of the Antifa Marxists.

China has already said that if N. Korea fires first, they will not support them....but, if we fire first, they will not allow N. Korea to be destroyed.
So, it seems to me, Pres. Trump, Gen. Mattis and S. Korea are stating we will not allow the NORKS to terrorize Japan/S. Korean states, or allies, but they're maintaining a position of not 'starting' anything, just promising to finish the problem.

Let Trump decide what he wants to do, and he has. He is waiting for N Korea to strike first.
A wise move.

Agree. I think N K will back down. Other countries have nuclear options; Iran, Russia, for example. I think Kim is just an immature person that should not be a leader, but he is because of lineage. What do you expect from a dictator that lets his people starve, and puts all the money into nuclear arms. I don't think he has the guts to, actually, hit the button because he is a narcissist of the highest order, and knows it would be his demise.

It is a war of words; just like the Cold War. Kim knows his country would be annihilated if he strikes any country. As it should be. I think he is just a big puffy blowhard that has an ego.problem. Maybe, someone in NK will have the guts to take him out.
