Greetings From....

... I have no idea where.

Towing a big tandem trailer with my dad's Mercury on it. Crossed from Memphis TN into Arkansas on Rt 40. As soon as I hit the Arkansas state line, all hell broke loose. I swear... this state did not want me here.

There's a big bridge from Memphis to Arkansas with the state line in the middle of the bridge. As soon as I got to it, I ran into a very dense fog bank. Couldn't see a friggin' thing. Trying to avoid the big semi trucks. Then it starts to rain. Hard. Talk about zero visibility. The fog clears just a bit from the rain. 2 miles down the road, total stopped traffic jam. It was a construction site and Waze said it was a merge issue, so ok... Then the police exit everyone to a side road parallel to Rt 40. Got to see a huge fire blocking the entire road. Couldn't tell what it was, but it was the right size for a tractor trailer. 5 miles down the side road, got back onto 40. Raining hard. The further down the road, the harder it's raining and still foggy. Had 6 hours of driving to go, it was 4:30pm. Finally said screw it, saw a sign for a Days Inn and bailed off the road. So here I am.

Best to just take a break on days like those.

My favorite was following a small plane and an escort of Georgia state troopers. Right down the middle of I95 North. It was slow going, so I stopped and got something to eat while the circus continued north.

Home again, home again, jiggity jig.

Been on the road since 7:30 this morning, left Nashville TN, just got home. Couple of stops along the way for fuel and eats, but that's about it.
