Preliminary Cause: Accidental, wood burning stove

Additional Information: The fire was attributed to a malfunction with the wood burning stove inside the garage. The fire destroyed and / or damaged several vehicles there were stored in the garage and the neighboring house was damaged by heat.

Accidental, malfunction with chimney

Additional Information: The fire was determined to be accidental as the result of a malfunction with a chimney extending into the third floor. An occupant of the home was home at the time and discovered the fire. Three adults were displaced as a result of the fire and are being assisted by family and friends.

Additional Information: The investigation revealed the fire was incendiary in nature. The fire caused extensive damage to the store and its contents. The store was not open at the time of the fire. Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Office of the State Fire Marshal, Southern Regional Office, at 443-550-6832.
