I bet Howard Cosell would buy this hoodie.

The clothing retailer H&M apologized on Monday for an image appearing in its online store that showed a black child model wearing a hooded sweatshirt that said “coolest monkey in the jungle.” The company removed the image on Monday and said it would also pull the shirt from its stores worldwide. The image was widely criticized online for its reference to a monkey, an animal that has long featured in racial and ethnic slurs.

I call Apollo my little monkey all the time. It was always a term of affection when I was growing up and had no racial connotation.

The monkey word caused Howard Cosell his job and his future at the time.

And his comment was blown way out of proportion. Caucasians have always had to tread lightly in matters concerning race. Although the other groups get a pass for saying the same things, just with different races being the subject. Ask Jimmy the Greek. How come Rush Limbaugh was taken off of MNF?

Yet Steven A. Smith, Charles Blow, Chris Rock, BuzzFeed, Rachel Dolz... ok, skip that 1, Jemele Hill all get a pass and get to keep their jobs.
